Elder Scrolls 6 should learn from is its combat

As we were recently informed by Bethesda, Elder Scrolls 6 is nowhere near happening. The game that will have to contend with the reputation of Skyrim is a long way off from the XBOX One, PS4 and PC, but that's not going to stop fans from discussing its future. At the moment, Elder Scrolls Online is enjoying a healthy existence on consoles and PCs. It may not be the perfect MMO we could have desired for this universe, but it is a tremendous amount of addictive fun!

Elder Scrolls Online got a lot of things wrong in terms of its execution, but that's not to say that it can't inspire future installments of the franchise. Elder Scrolls 6 has a serious reputation to live up to and I think that acknowledgment of ESO and its achievements are pivotal to its success.

Having played Elder Scrolls Online since the beginning of April 2014, I can safely say that this game has come a long way. It's almost a completely new title since its initial release, especially on Xbox One and PS4, thanks to the tireless efforts of ZeniMax Online to address the qualms of devoted players. It's an excellent MMO and it has a lot of greatness, which is sometimes hidden beneath endless grinding and boring story quests. However, outside of PvE, its PvP is a marvel and I wonder whether players would approve of the idea of multiplayer entering Elder Scrolls 6.

Skyrim is one game that I always wished had a multiplayer add-on. Wandering through these decrepit and vast lands would be such a pleasure with a friend by my side. Naturally I wouldn't want it to impede on the singleplayer campaign, but if Bethesda could find an effective way to introduce it into Elder Scrolls 6, whether it be through local or online play, I'd be hyped. ESO was a good idea because the notion of exploring this universe with many adventurers has always been something the community has discussed and liked.

One aspect of Skyrim that I wasn't too fond of was its actual environment. Fallout 3 and Skyrim are dark and dreary games. Skyrim has its beautiful areas, and snow-covered mountains, but there are often miles of grey and depressing sights. Bethesda have clearly addressed this issue with Fallout 4 as they've understood the merits of having a brighter and more colorful landscape. ESO has its beautiful Summerset Isles, which constantly offer new sights in colorful beauty. Elder Scrolls 6 needs to follow its lead.

The final aspect of ESO that Elder Scrolls 6 should learn from is its combat. Obviously the exact same combat style shouldn't be adopted for the next installment, but Skyrim's combat (and Fallout 3's, outside of VATS) was always very clunky and unintuitive. The shouts work perfectly, but seeing your character blindly swing a sword is always quite peculiar. Since ESO has had its combat mechanics and animations updated by ZeniMax, I've adored the game so much more. If Elder Scrolls 6 can make its combat as enjoyable as ESO's - we'll be on the right track.

Do You Want Anything in Elder Scrolls 6 From ESO On PC, Xbox One and PS4?

So what about you guys? Do you think that Elder Scrolls 6 should completely ignore the very existence of The Elder Scrolls Online?
