Liverpool team of the late '70s and early '80s were something to behold. They dominated both in European competition and domestically over a fantastic eight-year period (although they continued to dominate beyond these years locally). One of the 'old school' formations of the 4-4-2 was what brought many teams of this era particular success, not least, this fantastic Liverpool side which dominated domestically and throughout Europe for the best part of a decade! Here is how you need to set up your custom tactics sliders if you are looking to play like this high Barcelona side you want to set your team up in either the 4-4-2 (2) or the 4-4-2 formation. Here U4GM FIFA 20 Coins team share FIFA 20 Custom Tactics For Liverpool – The Red Machine for you.

FIFA 20 Custom Tactics For Liverpool – The Red Machine

Build Up Play: Speed – 42; Passing – 47; Positioning – Organised.
We tested this with a lower setting, but it didn't replicate the Liverpool team we wanted, they could be patient and play a slower tempo, but they often saved this for their European away games. At home in this competition and domestically, they would pass a little bit quicker and play a tad more aggressively. Organized positioning helps to keep that 4-4-2 shape.

Chance Creation: Passing – 50; Crossing – 77; Shooting – 62; Positioning - Organised
Passing should be set in the middle of the slider settings. This will mean that you have plenty of options, both long and short. The crossing should be set very high as this team did look to cross the ball lots, particularly from deeper areas, so make sure you try to utilize this with early crosses from your full-backs. For shooting, we recommend that you set this at the 62 marks; this will mean they will look to create the edge of the box opportunities for knock downs from crosses and also join in the attacks to link up with the front men. Once again positioning should be set to free form.

Defending: Pressure – 62; Aggression – 55; Team width – 80; Cover.
This side would press the ball relatively high and look to be reasonably aggressive to try and dominate the possession. By setting the sliders as we suggest above, you'll be able to imitate their pressing style if you combine your own controlled players with that of what the AI will react to because of this custom tactic. Don't worry about getting left exposed at the back if you cannot do this effectively, be sure to have two strong DMs with high defensive work rates and this should give you a tad more cover. Also, couple this by playing the cover option in defense and you'll be ready to start trying to dominate your opponents, much like this high side of the late '70s and '80s did.
