Diablo 4 Season 15 has finally made the complete Bovine Armor set available. The last missing piece, Foreshanks of the Bovine, was discovered after Patch 3.2.3 introduced a hidden cow behind the Cathedral in Old Tristram. Players can now collect all five pieces of this unusual cosmetic set, which pays tribute to the legendary Cow Level from Diablo 2.

Getting the gloves is surprisingly simple, but the other pieces require different activities, including a special encounter, a hidden boss, and fishing in a secret location. Here is how to find every piece of Bovine Armor in Diablo 4.

What Is the Bovine Armor Set?

The Bovine Armor set is a collection of five cosmetic armor pieces inspired by the iconic cow-themed secrets of the Diablo series. Each piece has its own acquisition method, and completing the collection gives players another unusual look to add to their wardrobe.

The set includes:

  • Head of the Bovine: Helmet
  • Brisket of the Bovine: Chest armor
  • Foreshanks of the Bovine: Gloves
  • Sirloin of the Bovine: Pants
  • Hooves of the Bovine: Boots

These Diablo 4 items are cosmetics rather than conventional upgrades. They have no affixes or set bonuses, so the main reason to collect them is their distinctive appearance and connection to Diablo's history.

How to Get Foreshanks of the Bovine

Foreshanks of the Bovine are the gloves and the final piece players needed to complete the set. They became obtainable after Patch 3.2.3 went live in October 2026.

Find the Hidden Cow in Old Tristram

Follow these steps to get the gloves:

  • Unlock Old Tristram by progressing through the Echo of Tristram questline and collecting Deckard Cain's journals.
  • Travel to Old Tristram and head toward the Cathedral at the northern end of the area.
  • Walk around to the back of the Cathedral.
  • Find the cow standing behind the building and interact with it to pet it.
  • The cow will drop Foreshanks of the Bovine.

You do not need to defeat a boss or complete a lengthy farming session. Simply finding and petting the correct cow is enough.

If the cow does not offer an interaction prompt, try leaving the game and re-entering the area. Switching difficulty or joining a less crowded instance may also help. Some players have reported interaction issues when several people gather around the cow.

This hidden addition was not listed in the official Patch 3.2.3 notes, which explains why players spent weeks searching for the gloves before their discovery.

How to Get Head of the Bovine

Head of the Bovine drops from the Complete Nut encounter in the Diablo Hellfire – Outskirts of Tristram Waking Nightmare.

To find it, explore the outdoor world and look for the rift associated with this special encounter. Once inside, locate the Complete Nut and speak to him to trigger the event. You will then need to defeat the attacking cows and complete the encounter.

Check the rewards after the fight to see whether the helmet has dropped. If you do not receive it on your first attempt, you may need to repeat the encounter.

Make sure you are entering the correct Waking Nightmare rather than an ordinary Nightmare Dungeon. The helmet is tied to this specific encounter.

How to Get Brisket of the Bovine

Brisket of the Bovine is the chest armor piece and can drop from Moophisto, the Divine Bovine.

To reach this boss, you must first gain access to the Bovine Sanctuary.

Summon Moophisto

Enter the Secret Cow Level and defeat the Cow King.

Collect five Prime Ribs.

Travel to the Altar of the Heifer, east of the Tyrael's Encampment waypoint.

Use the five Prime Ribs at the altar to access the Bovine Sanctuary.

Find the summoning altar inside the sanctuary and use the required materials to summon Moophisto.

Defeat Moophisto and check the loot for Brisket of the Bovine.

The chest piece is not a guaranteed drop, so you may need to defeat Moophisto more than once. Collecting the required Diablo 4 materials before returning to the sanctuary will make repeated attempts easier.

Moophisto can also drop other cow-themed cosmetic rewards, giving collectors another reason to revisit the encounter.

How to Get Sirloin of the Bovine

Sirloin of the Bovine is the pants piece. It drops from the Cow King in the Secret Cow Level.

Once you have unlocked access to the secret area, find and defeat the Cow King. Check the loot after the encounter to see whether the pants have dropped.

If the Sirloin does not appear, repeat the fight as needed. This item comes from the Cow King, so farming unrelated enemies or petting the cow in Old Tristram will not help you obtain it.

How to Get Hooves of the Bovine

Hooves of the Bovine are the boots piece, and their acquisition method is different from the other four items.

To obtain them, enter the Secret Cow Level and make your way to the secret island accessible through the area. Once there, fish for the Hooves of the Bovine.

The boots are associated with this specific fishing location rather than a standard monster drop. If you are following a route through the Secret Cow Level, make sure you reach the hidden island before attempting to fish for them.

Tips for Completing the Bovine Armor Set

Update Diablo 4 before searching for the gloves. Foreshanks of the Bovine became available with Patch 3.2.3. If you are running an outdated version, the cow behind the Cathedral may not appear.

Unlock Old Tristram first. If you cannot access the area, progress through the Echo of Tristram questline and collect the required journals before looking for the hidden cow.

Check your collection before farming. Each piece comes from a different source, so identifying the missing items will help you avoid unnecessary runs.

Prepare materials for Moophisto. The Brisket of the Bovine is not guaranteed, and repeated attempts may be necessary. Gathering the required Prime Ribs beforehand makes the process more efficient.

Do not overlook the secret island. The Hooves of the Bovine require fishing in a specific location. Defeating the Cow King alone will not complete the set.

Is the Bovine Armor Set Worth Getting?

For Diablo 4 players who enjoy hidden secrets, cosmetic collecting, and references to earlier games, the Bovine Armor set is worth pursuing. It combines several different activities into one collection, from fighting unusual bosses to exploring secret areas and interacting with an easily overlooked NPC.

The set also celebrates one of the most recognizable traditions in the Diablo franchise: the mysterious Cow Level. With Foreshanks of the Bovine now obtainable, players no longer need to wait for another update to finish the collection.

If you already have the other four pieces, head to Old Tristram, walk behind the Cathedral, and pet the cow. It is the quickest way to complete your Bovine Armor collection in Diablo 4 Season 15.
