If you're like me, you've probably asked: “What's the difference between Lattice, Units, and Chrono Tokens? And how do I not waste them?” I've been there. I messed up my first season, sat on unused Chrono Tokens, and kicked myself when they reset. This guide will save you from that headache.
Currency Guide - Marvel Rivals
List of The Main Currencies
1. Lattice (Premium Stuff)
You buy this with real money.
Small packs, medium packs, big packs—basic shop setup.
1 Lattice = 1 Unit (so you can straight-up convert if you need).
Best value: Luxury Battle Pass (around 990 Lattice). If you finish the pass, you earn back way more than you spend.
Step-by-step:
Open the in-game shop.
Choose your bundle (I usually grab the mid-tier, more value per dollar).
Use it smart: Battle Pass first, cosmetics second.
Ready for a Marvel Rivals Lattice Top Up? I open the shop, grab a mid-tier bundle for better value, and convert 1:1 to Units only if I’m short. I always buy the Luxury Battle Pass first for the best return, then pick cosmetics after—simple, fast, and efficient.
2. Units (The Workhorse Currency)
Earned by actually playing: missions, daily quests, event rewards.
Also convertible from Lattice 1:1.
You spend Units on skins, emotes, MVP animations, sprays, bundles.
My routine to earn Units fast:
Log in every day and clear your daily missions (takes 15–20 mins).
Push seasonal challenges when you can—they give bigger chunks.
If you have the Luxury Battle Pass, climb it early. More Units pile up as you go.
3. Chrono Tokens (Battle Pass Fuel)
Seasonal currency tied to the Battle Pass.
You earn them from dailies, challenges, and just playing matches.
Used to unlock items inside the Pass.
Important note: They reset every season. Don't hoard them like I did my first time.
Step-by-step:
Save your Tokens until you know which Battle Pass rewards you want.
Spend steadily so you don't forget.
Once you've unlocked all the rewards, dump leftovers into the Unit conversion (better than letting them vanish).
4. Unstable Molecules (Fancy Customization)
Newer currency.
You can only get these by converting Lattice.
Used for special color swaps or VFX on skins.
Expensive—around 600 per skin variant.
If you're not into cosmetics flexing, skip this. But if you love matching your Iron Man with a neon purple glow, this is where you spend.

My Tips to Not Screw This Up
Buy the Luxury Battle Pass if you're spending any Lattice. It pays for itself and more.
Spend Chrono Tokens before the season ends. They disappear—don't let them rot.
Use Units you earned first. Save your Lattice for stuff you really want or for Molecules.
Don't impulse buy skins. Check if they show up in bundles—you'll regret wasting 500 Units on a skin that's 400 in a bundle later.
Track events. Some events double your Unit rewards—those are gold mines.
Recap
Marvel Rivals throws a bunch of currencies at you, but here's the bottom line:
Lattice = real money fuel (Battle Pass, conversions, Molecules).
Units = the bread and butter (earned through play, spent on cosmetics).
Chrono Tokens = temporary pass currency (always spend them before reset).
Unstable Molecules = premium color swaps (strictly for fashion lovers).
Play daily, don't hoard Tokens, and always prioritize the Battle Pass if you're putting money in. That's how you stay ahead without wasting a dime.
