The MLB The Show 26 community is grinding hard for the new 94 OVR Topps Now Shohei Ohtani (DH Edition), and one challenge is stopping a lot of players in their tracks: the Extreme Moment requiring 6 home runs in a single game on All-Star difficulty using the Cleveland Guardians.
At first glance, it feels impossible. Six homers in one game on All-Star is brutal if you rely on normal contact hitting or random luck. But the challenge becomes much easier once you understand how to optimize your hitting settings, build the right lineup, and manipulate the AI pitching patterns in exchange for smarter progression and efficient use of MLB The Show 26 Stubs.

Zone Hitting is essential for this challenge. Directional and Timing hitting simply don’t provide enough control for consistently pulling home runs.
PCI Center: Diamonds or Bat
PCI Inner: Wedge or Basic
PCI Outer: Off
PCI Transparency: Around 40%–50%
Turning off the outer PCI reduces screen clutter and helps you track pitches more clearly. Lower transparency also makes it easier to see the ball out of the pitcher’s hand.
The key to success is pull-side power. Keep your PCI slightly inside and up before the pitch is thrown. Most right-handed pitchers on All-Star difficulty attack inside with fastballs and cutters, and that location is perfect for early swings that generate high exit velocity.
Timing matters more than anything. “Good” or “Just Early” swings are where most of your home runs will come from. If you are consistently late, you will end up with deep fly balls instead of no-doubt shots.
The Guardians roster has plenty of contact hitters, but this moment is all about raw power. Left-handed bats and switch hitters are especially valuable because you will usually face right-handed pitching.
Josh Naylor should be the centerpiece of your lineup. His swing is smooth, compact, and extremely easy to time on inside pitches. Even his Live Series card can dominate this challenge when his Inside Edge boosts are active.
Chase DeLauter is another excellent option if you can grab his Prospect card cheaply. His combination of power and natural loft makes him one of the best budget home run hitters available for this moment.
José Ramírez is almost mandatory. As a switch hitter, he bats left-handed against righties and benefits from excellent hitting quirks that make difficult pitches easier to square up.
One of the biggest mistakes players make is swinging at everything early in the game. Instead, focus on increasing the pitcher’s pitch count during the first few innings.
Once the starter’s energy drops into the yellow, the AI begins throwing flatter breaking balls and less effective fastballs. That is when home runs start coming in bunches.
If you reach the late innings with only four or five homers, do not panic. Intentionally allow the CPU to tie the game and force extra innings. More at-bats mean more opportunities to hit the final home run you need.
The 6-home run Extreme Moment is difficult, but it becomes manageable with the right setup and approach.
Once everything clicks, those warning-track fly balls will finally start leaving the yard, and Shohei Ohtani will be heading straight into your lineup.
