These numbers already make Yordan a dangerous hitter, but his biggest advantage comes from his swing and Quirks.

Yordan Alvarez has always been known for having one of the smoothest left-handed swings in MLB The Show. His swing timing feels natural, and his pull-side power allows players to consistently send mistakes over the wall.

His 10 Active Quirks are also a major reason why competitive players value this card so highly:

Dead Red – Helps against high-velocity fastballs
Breaking Ball Hitter – Improves performance against breaking pitches
Unfazed – Provides consistency in difficult situations
First-Pitch Hitter – Rewards aggressive first-pitch swings

For casual players and lower-ranked games, Walker is extremely fun to use. One good swing can completely change the scoreboard.

However, his weaknesses become much more noticeable in competitive play.

Problem 1 Lower Vision Makes High-Level Hitting Difficult

Walker only has 70 Vision, and his Contact attributes are not as strong as other endgame hitters.

Against elite pitchers throwing 102 MPH fastballs with Outlier, a smaller PCI can create major problems. Slightly late or early swings often turn into weak contact instead of base hits.

Problem 2 Missing Important Competitive Quirks

For a 99 OVR power hitter, Walker lacks some important Quirks that help top cards perform consistently.

Most importantly, he does not have Dead Red, which hurts his ability to handle the fastball-heavy pitching meta.

His power is incredible, but his swing does not receive the same advantages as Yordan’s.

Jordan Walker is still an exciting card. His 125 Power ratings create unbelievable home run potential, and he can be a game-changing hitter in the right situation. However, his lower Vision and lack of key Quirks make him less reliable against top Ranked opponents.

If you are building a serious Diamond Dynasty lineup, Yordan Alvarez is the safer investment. If you want maximum power and a fun Home Run Derby-style experience, Jordan Walker can still deliver huge moments.
