Sunreach is one of the most important new areas in Palworld 1.0. The floating islands offer new resources, valuable loot, unique Palworld Pals, and a major boss encounter. More importantly, the region is connected to late-game progression toward the World Tree.

If you're visiting Sunreach for the first time, preparation matters. The area is different from normal regions because of its vertical layout, difficult encounters, and limited ways to move between islands.

Here's a simple route to help you explore Sunreach without wasting time.

Why Should You Explore Sunreach?

There are several reasons to visit Sunreach:

Collect Soralite, one of the region's most important resources
Find rare chests and blueprints
Discover new Pals
Complete the area's major challenges
Fight Auri & Shaolong
Continue preparing for the World Tree

You don't need to complete everything immediately. A better approach is to unlock the area first, establish your travel routes, then return for resource farming and boss preparation.

How to Reach Sunreach

The recommended route starts at Feybreak Tower.

Before heading there, make sure you have cold-resistant equipment, strong armor, healing items, and a reliable combat team. The route eventually leads to Bjorn & Bastigor, so arriving without proper preparation can make the encounter unnecessarily difficult.

After defeating them, continue to the altar at the top of the tower. The altar provides the intended route into Sunreach.

Can You Fly There Directly?

A powerful flying Pal may allow you to reach the floating islands directly, but this isn't the safest option for a first visit.

The distance and vertical layout can make the journey difficult, especially if your flying mount has limited stamina.

It's better to unlock the normal route first. Once you're familiar with the area, flying becomes extremely useful for farming and moving between islands.

What Should You Bring?

Before entering Sunreach, prepare the following:

Cold-resistant equipment
A strong flying Pal
Upgraded weapons and armor
Healing items
Plenty of food
A Plasma Multicutter
Enough inventory space

The Plasma Multicutter is particularly important because you'll need it to collect Soralite efficiently.

Unlock Travel Points First

Sunreach consists of multiple floating islands, so movement can quickly become frustrating without a reliable travel network.

Look for purple teleportation spheres and island altars as soon as you enter the region.

Activate them whenever you find one.

This makes future trips much easier and allows you to return quickly to important resource locations and boss areas. A fast flying Pal is still extremely useful, but teleportation will save a lot of time once you start farming the region.

Soralite Farming

Soralite is one of the main resources you should look for in Sunreach.

You need a Plasma Multicutter to mine it, and the material can then be processed into Soralite Ingots for higher-level crafting and progression.

Instead of randomly searching for individual nodes, create a simple farming route.

Start from a nearby teleport point, collect the Soralite in the surrounding area, then fly to another island and repeat the process.

It's also worth checking nearby chests and resource locations while you're farming. This saves you from making separate trips later.

The Six Defense Modules

The six Defense Modules are another important part of Sunreach's progression.

Take time to locate and disable them before rushing toward the main boss. The floating island layout can make backtracking annoying, so activate travel points whenever possible while searching.

Once all six modules have been dealt with, you'll be better prepared for the area's major encounter.

Auri & Shaolong Boss Fight

Auri & Shaolong are the main boss encounter in Sunreach.

Before starting the fight, make sure your main Pals are properly leveled and your equipment is strong enough for the encounter.

A balanced team is more useful than simply bringing your highest-damage Pal.

How to Beat Them

Movement is extremely important during the fight.

Avoid standing in dangerous areas for too long and use ranged attacks whenever possible. Rotate your Pals when one starts taking heavy damage rather than leaving it on the field until it gets knocked out.

Ice and Electric Pals are worth considering for your team, depending on the matchup and the Pals available to you.

The biggest mistake is focusing entirely on damage. Good positioning and Pal management can make the encounter much easier.

Best Pals for Sunreach

For exploration, a fast flying Pal is almost essential.

Jetragon is an excellent choice if you have access to it because its speed makes traveling between floating islands much faster.

For combat, consider bringing strong Ice and Electric options alongside a reliable ranged attacker.

If you're planning to farm Soralite for a long time, also bring a Pal with strong Mining suitability. This can make repeated resource runs much more efficient.

Recommended Exploration Order

For a first visit, follow this simple progression:

1. Reach Sunreach through Feybreak Tower.

Prepare for the environment and defeat Bjorn & Bastigor.

2. Activate teleportation points.

Make future travel easier before exploring too deeply.

3. Find the six Defense Modules.

Clear them while exploring the islands.

4. Start farming Soralite.

Use your Plasma Multicutter and establish a repeatable route.

5. Prepare for Auri & Shaolong.

Check your gear, Pals, healing Palworld Items, and elemental coverage.

6. Defeat the boss.

Stay mobile and rotate your Pals when necessary.

7. Explore the remaining islands.

Collect chests, blueprints, regional materials, and new Pals.

8. Continue toward the World Tree.

Use your new resources and equipment to continue your endgame progression.

Sunreach is much easier when you have a clear plan. Instead of rushing straight toward the boss, unlock the travel network first, deal with the Defense Modules, collect Soralite, and then prepare for Auri & Shaolong.

The basic progression is simple:

Reach Sunreach → Unlock travel points → Clear Defense Modules → Farm Soralite → Beat Auri & Shaolong → Continue toward the World Tree.

With the right flying Pal, proper equipment, and a little preparation, Sunreach becomes much less intimidating and much more rewarding to explore.
