Alloyed Plating is an Epic crafting ingredient in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ. Players collecting MW4 DMZ Items should pay attention to this material because it is required for several valuable backpacks, armor, and stash upgrades. It cannot be broken down into Metals, so every looted piece must be extracted intact.

The in-game location hint points to three areas: Chang-san Air Base hangar, repair bay, and Bubun Yard. None has a guaranteed spawn, so search available containers and rotate when an area is empty.
Alloyed Plating and Structural Alloy are different ingredients. Structural Alloy is Rare and can be used to print Alloyed Plating, but it cannot replace the finished item in crafting recipes.
You must first unlock Epic Ingredient Printing. The upgrade requires:
After purchasing it, each Alloyed Plating print costs 100 Metals and 3 Structural Alloy.
Structural Alloy cannot be printed, so you still need to collect it from the hangar, repair bay, or Bubun Yard. No DMZ level reward or listed Orders payout provides Alloyed Plating directly.
Alloyed Plating has four direct uses:
| Use | Plating Required | Other Materials |
|---|---|---|
| Medium Secure Backpack | 2 | 5 Nylon Cloth, 10 Reactive Metals |
| Large Secure Backpack | 4 | 2 Prototype RF Modules, 10 Rigid Synthetics |
| 3-Plate Helmet Armor Vest | 4 | 2 Nano-Structured Alloy, 10 Reactive Metals |
| Stash Item Upgrade IV | 30 | 5 Gold Skulls, 30 Turned Components, 10 Experimental Compounds |
The Medium Secure Backpack is the cheapest craft, but you must find and extract its recipe first. Nylon Cloth is another Rare ingredient that needs to be collected separately.
The Large Secure Backpack requires two Prototype RF Modules from Deathstalkers. Make sure you have those before spending four Alloyed Plating.
The 3-Plate Helmet Armor Vest requires Nano-Structured Alloy, which comes from tank wrecks. This material cannot be printed, making it an important bottleneck.
Stash Item Upgrade IV is an expensive endgame investment. It requires 30 Alloyed Plating, so prioritize useful equipment before committing materials to additional stash space.
If you are still collecting Alloyed Plating, use this order:
Do not spend Structural Alloy on printing if you can loot finished Alloyed Plating directly. Each printed piece consumes three Rare alloys that could also be used for other equipment.
Players who want to make supported progression objectives more convenient can also explore MW4 Bot Lobbies through U4GM, while continuing to collect the materials required for DMZ crafting.
Selling Alloyed Plating early is usually a poor trade. Two pieces are needed for a Medium Secure Backpack, while four are required for either a Large Secure Backpack or the 3-Plate Helmet Armor Vest.
Keep your supply until the equipment recipes you actually plan to use are complete. Only consider selling duplicates when your important crafting goals and stash upgrades are already covered.
Alloyed Plating is mainly a progression material for secure backpacks, specialized armor, and later stash upgrades. Focus on Bubun Yard and the Chang-san Air Base hangar and repair bay, then unlock Epic Ingredient Printing when you have the required materials.
Save finished plating whenever possible, and use Structural Alloy for printing only when your available loot cannot cover the recipes you need.
