Diablo 4 Patch 3.1.3 is now live on August 12, bringing another round of fixes to Season 14: Season of Death Awakening. This is a smaller maintenance update rather than a major content patch, so players should not expect new systems or major balance changes.

Instead, the update focuses on several problems that have been affecting the current season, including seasonal progression, class visuals, teleport issues, multiplayer encounters, and Corrupted Reaper interactions. While none of these changes are likely to shake up the current meta, they should make Season 14 a smoother experience.

Here is what players need to know about Patch 3.1.3.

Season Rank III Progression Gets Easier

One of the most useful changes affects the Season Rank III objective, Set Fire to the Beacons.

Escalation Nightmare Dungeons with the Rupture affix now count toward this objective. This means players can make progress while running these Nightmare Dungeons instead of having to go out of their way to complete a separate activity.

It is a small adjustment, but it makes the Season Rank progression feel less restrictive, especially for players who are already spending most of their time farming Nightmare Dungeons.

Several Class Visual Issues Are Fixed

Patch 3.1.3 also addresses a number of visual problems involving different classes and seasonal enemies.

For Druids, using Petrify on a Corrupted Reaper will no longer cause its wings to become distorted. Necromancers also receive a fix for an issue where Shadow skills could sometimes cover up the Corrupted Reaper's visual effects.

Warlocks get a multiplayer-related visual fix as well. The Chain Aura variant in Dark Citadel could make a character appear semi-transparent to other players. That issue has now been fixed.

These changes do not alter class power or build strength, but they should make combat easier to read and improve the overall presentation of high-action encounters.

War Plans Teleport and Echo of Mephisto Get Fixes

Season 14 players should also notice improvements when moving between activities.

The War Plans teleport issue has been fixed, meaning players should no longer occasionally fail to teleport into Infernal Hordes when playing at lower difficulties. This is especially helpful for players who regularly rotate between activities while farming XP, materials, and Diablo 4 items.

Echo of Mephisto also gets a useful multiplayer adjustment. Players who join the encounter after it has already started can now use the portal to enter the third phase directly.

This should make group runs much less frustrating when someone joins late or reconnects during an ongoing fight. With fewer interruptions between activities, players can spend more time farming seasonal content and less time dealing with unnecessary teleport and party issues.

Corrupted Reaper Summons Are Cleaner

Another small quality-of-life change affects Corrupted Reaper summons.

When players summon the Corrupted Reaper again, corpses left behind from the previous summon will now be cleared. This prevents the area from becoming cluttered during repeated encounters and makes the battlefield easier to manage.

What Does Patch 3.1.3 Mean for Season 14?

For most players, Patch 3.1.3 is about reducing friction rather than changing how the game is played.

Season Rank progression should feel more natural, Infernal Hordes should be easier to access, and multiplayer encounters should have fewer awkward moments. The visual fixes are also useful for players who spend a lot of time in high-density combat where effects and enemy models can already be difficult to follow.

There is no major balance shake-up here, so players do not need to rebuild their characters because of Patch 3.1.3. Existing Season 14 builds should continue to work as before.

Patch 3.1.3 is best described as a cleanup update for Season 14. It does not dramatically change the meta, but it addresses enough small problems to make the current season more consistent.

With players already looking ahead to the next major seasonal update and future content, this patch gives Season 14 another round of useful polish. For anyone still actively playing the current season, these changes should make the grind a little smoother without forcing major changes to existing builds.
