Diablo 4 Season 15 has a lot going on at the same time. You may be trying to improve your Soul Splinters, increase War Plans Reputation, collect Lair Keys, and prepare for harder endgame activities. If you farm each resource separately, it is easy to spend more time traveling between activities than actually killing monsters.

What Should You Farm First?

The best priority depends on your current character, but most players will get more value by focusing on the resource that is currently limiting their build.

Soul Splinters are especially important because they provide powerful bonuses while also introducing drawbacks. You can equip up to three Soul Splinters in your Jewelry slots, so finding the right combination can have a noticeable effect on your build.

War Plans Reputation is another important long-term goal. Reputation progress unlocks additional upgrades and activity modifiers, allowing you to improve the efficiency of the content you are already farming.

Keys, crafting materials, experience, and equipment can usually be treated as secondary rewards during these activities rather than something that requires a completely separate farming route.

The Best General Farming Loop

For a balanced farming session, a simple rotation is:

Helltide → Waking Nightmare → Nightmare Dungeon or Escalation Nightmare → Lair Bosses

You do not need to follow this order every time. The idea is to combine high-density activities with your current War Plans objectives instead of repeatedly changing zones.

1. Start With Helltide

Helltide is a strong choice when you want dense monster groups and steady seasonal progression.

Pandemonium Ruptures can appear during Helltide, giving you another way to engage large groups of enemies and continue progressing through the area.

Focus on areas with strong monster density and clear nearby objectives whenever possible. If a Rupture or event appears along your route, complete it instead of abandoning your current path just to search for another activity.

This is also a good opportunity to make progress toward War Plans objectives connected to Helltide.

2. Use Waking Nightmares for Seasonal Progress

Waking Nightmares are an important part of the Season 15 progression system.

The season introduces three Prime Evil paths based around Diablo, Baal, and Mephisto. Each path is connected to different types of endgame activities.

Diablo's path focuses on Helltide and Infernal Hordes.

Baal's path focuses on Kurast Undercity and Lair Bosses.

Mephisto's path focuses on The Pit and Nightmare Dungeons.

All three paths also interact with the Tree of Whispers.

This makes your chosen Prime Evil path important when planning your farming route. Instead of randomly switching between activities, try to spend more time in content that benefits from the path you are currently progressing.

The largest Waking Nightmares can also be used when you need to change your active Prime Evil path.

3. Move Into Nightmare Content

After finishing the Helltide portion of your session, Nightmare content is a natural next step.

Nightmare Dungeons provide experience, equipment, materials, Glyph progression, and progress toward the Mephisto-related Prime Evil path.

If you have access to Escalation Nightmares, they can also be useful when you want a longer multi-dungeon farming session. An Escalation Nightmare chains several Nightmare Dungeons together, increasing the difficulty and rewards as you progress.

The main advantage is efficiency. Rather than treating every reward as a separate objective, you can use the same dungeon run to improve your character, progress seasonal systems, and collect materials.

How to Farm Soul Splinters

Soul Splinters are different from the three Prime Evil paths used for the seasonal reputation system.

There are eight Soul Splinters in Season 15:

  • Splinter of Anguish
  • Splinter of Sin
  • Splinter of Lies
  • Splinter of the Black Soulstone
  • Splinter of Pain
  • Splinter of the Mother
  • Splinter of Hellfire
  • Splinter of Damnation

Each Soul Splinter provides a strong benefit together with a drawback. This means the best Splinter is not necessarily the one with the highest general power. The right choice depends on your build and what kind of content you are farming.

For example, Splinter of Lies can significantly increase Gold and Crafting Material drops while also applying negative combat effects. Splinter of Pain provides substantial Damage Reduction but reduces Movement Speed. Splinter of Hellfire increases damage but removes Critical Strike Chance.

Because of these trade-offs, it is better to focus on the Soul Splinters that actually work with your build instead of trying to collect every type immediately.

Soul Splinters can also be upgraded through Amalgamation in the Horadric Cube. Combining Soul Splinters of the same type and rarity allows you to progress toward higher rarities.

What About Keys?

Keys should generally be treated as part of the larger farming cycle.

There is little reason to stop your main progression every time you need another key. Continue running your normal seasonal and endgame activities, collect the keys that naturally appear, and then use them when you have enough resources for targeted Lair Boss farming.

This becomes especially useful once your character is strong enough to clear endgame content quickly.

Instead of spending an entire session only collecting keys, you can accumulate them while working on Reputation, Soul Splinters, experience, and Diablo 4 items.

Then, when you have enough, switch to Lair Bosses for a focused boss-farming session.

A Simple One-Hour Farming Routine

If you only have about an hour to play, there is no need to create a complicated schedule.

A practical rotation is to begin with Helltide and Pandemonium Ruptures. Spend the first part of the session clearing dense areas and completing nearby objectives.

After that, move into Waking Nightmares to continue your seasonal progression and work toward the Prime Evil path you currently need.

Finish with Nightmare Dungeons or an Escalation Nightmare for experience, equipment, materials, and additional seasonal progress.

If you already have enough Keys, replace part of the Nightmare section with Lair Boss farming.

The exact order can change depending on what is available and what your character needs most.

How to Make the Farm More Efficient

There are a few simple habits that can make a noticeable difference.

First, avoid constantly changing activities just because another reward becomes available. Choose a main objective for the session and let secondary rewards accumulate naturally.

Second, adjust your War Plans to match the content you actually want to farm. If you are spending most of your time in Nightmare Dungeons, there is little reason to build your plan around activities you are not running.

Third, do not spread your Soul Splinter upgrades across several types without a reason. Identify the Splinter that benefits your build and prioritize it first.

Finally, group play can make dense activities smoother when everyone is moving through the same objectives. If you are playing solo, prioritize routes with minimal travel and strong monster density.

Season 15 can feel complicated at first because several progression systems are active at the same time. Soul Splinters, War Plans Reputation, Waking Nightmares, Nightmare Dungeons, Keys, and Lair Bosses all have different purposes, but they can be combined into the same farming routine.

Start with the activity that best matches your current goal, then use the other activities to fill in the gaps. Helltide is useful for dense combat and seasonal progression, Waking Nightmares help advance the Prime Evil system, while Nightmare content provides experience, D4 gear, and additional resources. Once you have enough Keys, Lair Bosses can become a more targeted part of your farming sessions.

The most important thing is to avoid farming every resource separately. Pick a main objective, build your War Plans around it, and let the other rewards accumulate naturally along the way.

With a consistent farming loop, even a short play session can make meaningful progress toward your Season 15 build without feeling like you are constantly running between different activities.
