What is a Ghoul?

A ghoul is a human who has undergone extreme exposure to radiation, mutating into a state where they are functionally immortal but significantly changed. Many ghouls in the Fallout universe were transformed during the Great War, such as Mordecai McCoy and The Ghoul from Prime Video’s upcoming Fallout series. Unlike them, however, players in Fallout 76 are Vault-dwellers who will actively choose to undergo this transformation through the Leap of Faith quest.

The Transformation Process

To embrace your new ghoul form, you’ll need to complete the Leap of Faith quest, which will take you to Whitespring in the Forest. However, this transformation is only available to players Level 50 and above. If you’re not quite there yet, don’t worry—Double XP has been extended until February 24, giving you plenty of time to level up before the update drops!

Why Become a Ghoul?

Turning into a ghoul comes with numerous benefits:

Reversing the Transformation

If you decide being a ghoul isn’t for you, you can return to human form via the character menu. While the Leap of Faith quest can’t be repeated, players can opt for Ghoul Re-transformation, available for purchase with Atoms.
