Recently, Aeternum unveiled its new Survival Roadmap, outlining what players can expect with the Season 7 update and beyond, and there are some big changes to the game as a whole among some of the new additions announced in future updates to the game. While some of these changes aren’t expected to arrive until later this year, there will be several notable additions to Aeternum’s January Season 7 update, and more than just a new season pass reward track to look forward to.
What to expect from New World: Aeternum's Battle Royale mode
Building on the existing PvP mode, New World: Aeternum's upcoming Battle Royale game mode is likely to offer balanced group battles and generous rewards.
New World: Aeternum Season 7 update will get 2025 off to a strong start
What's in the New World: Aeternum Season 7 update
New free and premium season pass reward tracks
Seasonal worlds
New artifacts and perks
Battle balance
New daily solo trials
New outpost raid maps
Mutated expedition upgrades
New and returning seasonal events
New open-world bosses
Seasonal worlds allow New World: Aeternum to try big changes
Starting with Season 7, New World: Aeternum will release seasonal worlds that play by different rules than traditional worlds. New World: Aeternum's Season 7 seasonal worlds will focus on changes to open-world PvP, specifically changes like making PvP always on and improving loot dropped when players are killed. These seasonal worlds are only available during certain seasons, but depending on player feedback, they could inspire permanent changes to the game's traditional worlds.
New Artifacts, New Skills, and Balance Changes in Aeternum Season 7 Update
While new artifacts have yet to be announced, there is currently only one artifact available in Aeternum for earrings, amulets, necklaces, and certain weapon types, so it's safe to assume these will be a priority for new artifacts. As for perks, Aeternum's developers recently mentioned that they plan to experiment with adding additional perks that enhance the abilities of specific weapons. Between new artifacts, new perks, and other overall balance changes that come with each season, the future of endgame build diversity in Aeternum has never been brighter.
Aeternum Season 7 Update Will Continue to Improve Endgame Activity Rewards
M3 Mutation Expeditions in Aeternum Season 7 will be added to the matchmaking system, with increased rewards, and a new system that will unify mutation modifiers across all featured Mutation Expeditions. In the past, M3 Mutation Expeditions were often overlooked for being too difficult and lacking in rewards, but since this update will make M3 Mutation Expeditions both more accessible and more rewarding, players may want to reconsider adding this activity back into their endgame routine.
Similar to M3 Mutation Expeditions, daily solo trials in Aeternum currently suffer from lackluster rewards. While Season 7 will add new daily solo trials that will presumably address this, rewards for existing solo trials are expected to improve in future updates to Aeternum after Season 7.
Overall, Aeternum has changed a lot since its initial release, but there are still several exciting updates coming in the future that will deliver a variety of highly anticipated features as well as other surprises. 2025 is already shaping up to be another big year for new and returning players of Aeternum, with January's Season 7 update introducing more than just a new Season Pass reward track. u4gm is also ready to take on new challenges with players!
