When I first jumped into the Machinery of Oppression update in Helldivers 2, I thought I was ready for anything. I wasn’t. Cyberstan is intense—tight factory corridors, towering machinery, relentless Cyborgs, and those terrifying Vox Engines. If you go in unprepared, you’ll find yourself respawning… a lot. After several frustrating runs, I finally figured out how to survive, and I want to share my strategies for taking down each new enemy type.
Cyberstan introduces three enemies that completely change the way you play. Each feels alive, aggressive, and absolutely deadly if you don’t respect it. Knowing how they operate—and where their weak points are—is the difference between victory and a failed mission.
| Enemy Type | Description | Weaknesses | How I Took Them Down |
| Agitators | Heavily armored Cyborg commanders that buff nearby units. | Head and chest vents; slow movement. | I focused fire on them first, used thermite grenades and explosives on exposed vents, and flanked them whenever possible. Removing their buffs early made the rest of the fight much more manageable. |
| Radicals | Fast melee Cyborgs that swarm in groups. | Limb armor; vulnerable to stuns and explosives. | I funneled them into kill zones, deployed stuns and turrets, and always dealt with them before anything else. Let a Radical slip past, and your formation collapses fast. |
| Vox Engines | Mobile heavy assault units with lasers, rockets, and intimidation broadcasts. | Side vents and exhaust ports; susceptible to anti-tank weapons and orbital strikes. | These monsters forced me to coordinate with my squad. We focused fire on vents, used the Bastion tank whenever possible, and avoided open areas. Rushing them head-on is a guaranteed way to wipe out a team. |
One thing I noticed fast: Cyberstan isn’t just about firepower. It’s a test of strategy, timing, and team coordination.
Prioritize targets. Always start with Agitators—they buff enemies and make fights chaotic. Radicals come next because they swarm, and Vox Engines should be handled last, when you can coordinate full squad fire.
Use the environment. Narrow corridors are your friend. Open areas? Not so much. I learned to funnel enemies into chokepoints where turrets and grenades do maximum damage.
Coordinate abilities with u4gm. Orbital strikes, stuns, and explosives aren’t just for flashy kills. Using them at the right moment makes the difference between cleaning a wave efficiently and being wiped out.
Assign roles in your squad. I found that when one teammate handled crowd control, another anti-tank, and a third heavy firepower, the team became unstoppable. Chaos happens when everyone tries to do everything at once.
Watch the global reinforcements. Every death reduces the community pool, affecting overall mission progress. I started playing smarter, staying with teammates, and avoiding risky moves that didn’t benefit the squad.
My Personal Strategy
For me, survival in Cyberstan boiled down to three things: knowing the enemies, sticking to my squad, and being patient. I can’t stress enough how important it is to target weak points. Agitators have vents and exposed heads; Radicals can be stunned or funneled; Vox Engines are slow, but their side vents are gold. Weapons and stratagems matter, but timing matters even more.
Cyberstan is brutal, but it’s also one of the most rewarding challenges in Helldivers 2. Once you learn the patterns, adapt your loadouts, and coordinate with your team, even the most dangerous enemies can be managed. Every run feels like a test of skill, patience, and teamwork, and when it all comes together, it’s absolutely exhilarating.
Cyberstan will push you to your limits, but with the right approach, you can not only survive—you can thrive.
