Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player from Blade & Soul Live, this guide will help you understand the fundamental skills, mechanics, and optimal rotations for the Assassin. Since the Assassin in BNS Neo differs from its previous iteration, even veteran players should take a look. This guide covers everything from basic skills to advanced Lightning Assassin rotations, ensuring you can maximize your damage and efficiency in both PvE and PvP.

Assassin Base Skills Overview

Before diving into advanced tactics, let’s go over the Assassin’s fundamental skills. If you're already familiar with them, feel free to skip this section.

Mobility & Iframes

Q & E – These are your primary iframe skills:

Q: Requires a target and moves you behind them.

E: A forward dash iframe.

SS – Another movement-based iframe for repositioning.

Tab Escape – Your CC escape skill on a 36-second cooldown. It also grants stealth.

Stealth & Positioning

Hook Kick (Tab Upgrade) – Switches position with an enemy. Upgrading it allows entry into stealth.

Shadow Kick – Removes you from stealth.

Decoy (Counter Mechanic) – If timed correctly, this lets you evade yellow boss attacks, move behind the enemy, and gain stealth for 6 seconds.

Shadow Slip – A movement skill that places you behind your target when used after Backstab or Tab Escape.

Crowd Control & Disruptive Skills

Close Shave – A petrify effect applied to stunned enemies. Targets cannot use tab escape on this.

Aerial Skills – Used when an enemy is stunned, dazed, or knocked down.

Cyclone Sweep – Puts targets in an unconscious state for 30 seconds.

ZCC (Knockdown) – Can be upgraded into Ice Mine for a freezing effect.

Lotus Fury – Can be specced into stun, resist, or poison stacking (used mainly in PvE for poison stacks).

Bolt Strike – 2-second stun and moves behind the target.

Highwire (PvP Mechanic) – Prevents enemies from moving for 3 seconds and grants follow-up attacks.

Poison Management & Damage Skills

Poison Breath (4 Skill) – Essential for maintaining Venom stacks.

Time Bomb – When upgraded, becomes a key utility skill for poison upkeep.

Shuriken – A ranged DPS skill that, when upgraded, adds a poison stack.

Lotus Escape (V Skill) – A second CC escape that helps against stuns and dazes.

Early Game Assassin Playstyle & Skill Prioritization

In the early game (before level 45), your skill selection will be limited. Here’s what you should focus on:

Main Combo: RMB → F → RMB → F → RMB → F

Stealth Rotation: Use Tab, Backstab, or Decoy to enter stealth, then spam RMB + F.

Poison Maintenance: Use Poison Breath, Time Bomb, and Shuriken to keep stacks up.

Skill Books Priority: Prioritize green and gray rarity skill books to optimize your build early on.

Lightning Assassin Build & Endgame Rotation

Why Switch to Lightning Assassin?

Many old BNS Live players may be confused by the changes to the Lightning build in BNS Neo, but it remains the best Assassin playstyle. Here’s why:

Higher sustained DPS

More consistent damage outside of stealth

Less reliance on stealth-based attacks

Endgame Lightning Assassin Rotation

Once you have all your necessary skills, your primary focus is keeping up poison stacks and maintaining high DPS.

Poison Management (Core Skills)

Poison Breath (4 Skill) – Main poison stacker.

Time Bomb – Additional poison stack.

Shuriken (Venom Upgrade) – Provides extra stacks.

X Skill (Poison Stacker) – Grants one poison stack after resistance.

DPS Rotations

Stealth DPS Rotation:

Use Heartstep Rotation for burst damage while maintaining Lightning RMB.

Stealth → RMB → F → Poison Breath → Time Bomb → Shuriken

Out-of-Stealth DPS Rotation:

RMB → LMB → RMB → LMB (Alternative burst cycle)

This method eliminates the need to re-enter stealth constantly.

The Assassin class in Blade & Soul Neo is an agile and versatile class that rewards precise execution. While early-game focus issues and skill limitations can make it feel underwhelming, mastering its stealth mechanics, iframe management, and poison stacking will allow you to excel in both PvE and PvP. See you in the game!
