MW4 DMZ Military Composites: Locations and Best Uses

Military Composites are a rare progression material in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ. If you are working toward advanced crafting, MW4 DMZ Items progression, or specific equipment upgrades, collecting these materials early can save time later. The main challenge is that Military Composites are tied to a Commander encounter rather than a confirmed regular loot location.

MW4 DMZ Military Composites: Locations and Best Uses

Where to Find Military Composites

The confirmed source for Military Composites is Colossus, a Commander that roams Hajin. Cheongun Village and Songdo Wharf are useful areas to check because Colossus activity can cluster around these locations.

Chang-san Air Base may also be relevant during Operation Iron Citadel, when Colossus activity can overlap with the increased danger around the air base. However, Military Composites should not be treated as a guaranteed building or container spawn. The location hint points to Colossus, not to a specific loot box.

Other Commander materials have different sources. The Prototype RF Module comes from Death Stalker, while Nano-Structured Alloy is associated with Tank. These materials are not substitutes for Military Composites.

What to Unlock First

Military Composites have several important crafting uses, so it is worth deciding on a priority before spending them.

The first major target is Epic Ingredient Printing. This upgrade requires:

  • 100,000 DMZ Cash
  • 10 Binding Catalysts
  • 10 Printed Circuit Boards
  • 5 Military Composites

Unlocking Epic Ingredient Printing opens additional crafting recipes, including Alloyed Plating, Ballistic Fabric, Comms Module, Nylon Laminate, Power Regulator, Stabilized Reagents, Turned Components, and Volatile Explosives.

Military Composites are also used for the Secure Scavenger Backpack and Tempered Armor Vest. Since Epic Ingredient Printing alone requires five, it is generally sensible to reserve those five first if unlocking the broader crafting system is your current goal. Check the live recipe requirements before committing extra materials to equipment.

Prepare the Other Materials Before the Run

Collecting Military Composites is only part of the process. You also need the supporting materials and enough DMZ Cash to complete the upgrade.

Binding Catalysts can be found around Mirae General Hospital and medical tents, and they are also available as a level 49 reward. Printed Circuit Boards can be found around Haneul Nuclear Reactor and electrical substations, with another reward available at level 56.

Cash capacity can become a problem when you are preparing for expensive crafting upgrades. The FOB bank starts with a 100,000 DMZ Cash cap. Bank Upgrade I costs 20,000 DMZ Cash and increases the cap to 250,000, making it easier to prepare for the 100,000-cash Epic Ingredient Printing requirement while keeping funds available for other needs.

Remember that crafting other items will not produce Military Composites. For example, a Comms Module uses 100 Electronics and 3 CPUs, while Volatile Explosives uses 100 Chemicals and 3 Nitro Compounds. These recipes can support other crafting goals, but they do not replace the Colossus farming requirement.

A Safer Military Composites Farming Route

Before deploying, check your stash and confirm how many Military Composites you still need. If your goal is Epic Ingredient Printing, work toward the required five rather than spending materials on secondary recipes too early.

Start by checking Colossus activity around Cheongun Village or Songdo Wharf. Consider Chang-san Air Base when Operation Iron Citadel makes it relevant, but account for the additional danger before committing to that route. Since Colossus is the confirmed source, focus on locating and defeating the Commander instead of spending time searching ordinary containers for a guaranteed spawn.

Use a Secure Slot when possible to protect valuable materials if the run fails. A Medium Backpack has one Secure Slot, and items protected there can remain safe even when you fail to extract. Your stash is also shared across Active Duty Operators, so you can use different Operators to prepare for subsequent runs without treating each stash as entirely separate.

After securing Military Composites, extract and review your inventory before the next deployment. Gather Binding Catalysts, Printed Circuit Boards, and DMZ Cash separately so that you can complete Epic Ingredient Printing as soon as you have all the requirements.

Final Preparation Checklist

  • Target Colossus in Hajin; do not rely on an unconfirmed Military Composites container spawn.
  • Reserve five Military Composites if Epic Ingredient Printing is your priority.
  • Collect Binding Catalysts, Printed Circuit Boards, and the required DMZ Cash separately.
  • Use a Secure Slot to protect valuable materials during risky runs.
  • Check the current in-game recipes before spending materials on the Secure Scavenger Backpack or Tempered Armor Vest.

Players looking to make their overall progression more efficient can also explore Bot Lobbies MW4. This can provide another way to focus on selected progression goals, spend less time on repetitive activities, and dedicate more time to preparing loadouts, collecting crafting materials, and tackling challenging DMZ missions.

Military Composites are best approached as a Commander-focused farming objective. Once you secure the five needed for Epic Ingredient Printing and prepare the supporting materials, you can move into a wider range of advanced crafting recipes with a clearer progression path.
