The 1.1.10.0 patch for Dune: Awakening, released on July 2, 2025, is the game's first major update since its launch, initially deployed on the Public Test Client (PTC) on June 25, 2025, for testing before going live. It introduces significant gameplay improvements, quality-of-life changes, and bug fixes, with a focus on balancing PvE and PvP in the Deep Desert, enhancing vehicle mechanics, and improving the overall player experience. Below is a comprehensive summary of the patch notes based on available information.
Highlights
Deep Desert PvE Expansion: The PvE area near the shield wall in the Deep Desert has been expanded to cover rows A, B, C, D, and half of E, allowing players who prefer PvE to access end-game resources without engaging in PvP. Imperial Testing Stations and caves in this area are now PvE zones, though Control Points and Shipwrecks remain PvP across the entire map, creating localized PvP pockets in the PvE section. Resource density increases further north, with the largest spice fields spawning there to maintain a risk-vs-reward balance.
Sandworm Behavior: Sandworms now linger around recently harvested spice fields, adding a new dynamic to resource gathering.
Harkonnen and Atreides Base Attacks: Reduced the frequency of Harkonnen attacks on certain Atreides bases (and vice versa) in Hagga Basin to balance faction interactions.
Streamer Mode Enhancements: When Streamer Mode is active, the map creator’s name and Deep Desert sector names are hidden to protect player privacy.
Main Menu Update: The “Play Now” button now filters out private servers for easier access to public servers.
Gameplay and Balance Changes
Vehicle Improvements:
Ornithopter Changes: Scout Ornithopter Thruster modules have increased speed in Vulture Mode, rewarding players who prioritize speed over inventory or other modules. Exiting ornithopters mid-air now causes them to drop straight down instead of gliding, reducing the risk of losing them due to accidental exits or disconnects.
Ground Vehicles: A failsafe system prevents vehicles from being stuck in a flipped state, and their behavior when flipped or kicked by sandworms has been improved. Vehicle interaction is now easier from various angles, and the buggy turret camera has been tweaked for better visibility.
Anti-Gravity Fields: Updated to allow stationary targets to move out of fields rather than being locked at zero velocity.
Rusher NPCs: Now animation-cancel melee attack finishers when targets move out of range, improving combat responsiveness.
Resource Gathering: Fixed an issue where Dew Reapers would not continuously harvest water between dewfield patches.
Crafting and Items:
Added three unique weapon schematics to Asmara Efendi (Harko Village Weapons Vendor). The Vehicle Backup Tool and Solido Replicator are now craftable in the Survival Fabricator under Utility Tools and Building Tools categories, respectively.
Moved Atreides Decorations from Asmara Efendi to Ormunda Laaks (Harko Village Structure Vendor).
Removed the Hawkeye Scanner Module MK5 Unique schematic from Landsraad rewards, as it was outdated.
Sietch Land Claiming: Removed restrictions on visiting sietches, allowing players to claim land in any sietch in their world, not just their “home” sietch.
