If you've ever stood in front of the Cooking Pot in Grow a Garden wondering “What's the best recipe for Chris P.?”, you're in the right place.
I've spent hours experimenting, burning a few meals (sorry, Chris P.), and figuring out exactly what rewards you can get—and more importantly, how to get the good stuff.

Here's the full reward list, sorted by tier, plus practical steps so you can start cooking your way to rare seeds, pets, and cosmetics.

How Cooking Works (Step-by-Step)

Step 1 – Gather Your Crops
Head to your garden and pick what's ready. Rare seeds give you better odds at high-tier meals.

Step 2 – Use the Cooking Pot
The Cooking Pot lets you combine different crops into one meal. Try mixing rarities—basic crops alone usually lead to Common rewards.

Step 3 – Serve the Meal to Chris P.
Chris P. will taste your creation. If he likes it, he'll hand over rewards from a tier that matches your recipe's quality.

Step 4 – Aim for Higher Tiers
The better the recipe, the rarer the loot. Legendary or higher is where the real treasures are.

How to Get Better Cooking Rewards

Here's what I've learned after dozens of cooking sessions:

  1. Mix Rare with Common Crops
Just tossing in only rare seeds doesn't always push you into Legendary. A mix of high- and mid-tier crops works best for me.
  2. Save Special Crops for Big Batches
Don't waste your Taco Fern Seeds or Gourmet Seeds on a single-ingredient dish. Use them in multi-crop recipes.
  3. Repeat What Works
When you find a recipe that gives Legendary or above, write it down. Cooking is partly luck, but certain combos consistently deliver.
  4. Don't Fear the Failures
Even low-tier rewards like Watering Cans and Fork Fences are useful early game.
  5. Cook After Large Harvests
I usually wait until I have at least 8–10 different crops ready. This gives me more mix-and-match options.

If you keep experimenting and recording your best results, you’ll steadily climb into the higher reward tiers. Before long, you’ll be swimming in rare seeds, special gear, and maybe even some unique pets to show off. And if you’re looking to expand your collection even further, don’t forget to check out the grow a garden pet shop—it’s the perfect place to find companions that make your garden feel truly alive.

My Favorite Cooking Combos for High-Tier Loot

(Tested as of the latest patch—works for me, but RNG still applies)

  • Corn + Gourmet Seed Crop + Artichoke → Often gives Mythical.
  • Taco Fern + Advanced Sprinkler Crop + Mutation Spray Crop → Consistent Divine drops.
  • Three different rare crops → Usually Legendary or Mythical.

Cooking in Grow a Garden isn't just about filling Chris P.'s belly—it's one of the fastest ways to score rare seeds, special pets, and exclusive cosmetics.
If you focus on crop variety and keep notes on what works, you'll be seeing Prismatic-tier rewards like the Pancake Stack Cosmetic in no time.
