Farming throwing stars is an important part of an Assassin’s progress in MapleStory Classic World. These rechargeable weapons are needed for regular training, and some rare types can also bring a high price on the free market. Players who want to save their Mesos should learn which stars can be bought from NPCs and which ones require monster hunting. As your character gets stronger, you can move to new maps and look for better throwing stars while gaining experience.

GMSCW: Best Throwing Star Farming Locations and Monster Drops

Buying Subis and Wolbis

Subi Throwing Stars are the easiest option for new Thieves. Every standard town potion shop across Victoria Island sells them, so players can restock without traveling to a special map. Wolbi Throwing Stars offer a small Weapon Attack upgrade, but players must visit the Kerning City store to buy them. The store requires Kerning City citizenship, so new characters may need to spend time completing the related process before they can purchase Wolbis. If you want to get a better set without relying on monster drops, this is an option worth working toward.

Wooden Tops from Dark Axe Stumps

Wooden Tops are a good first farming target for players who want an upgrade over basic stars. Dark Axe Stumps, which are around Level 22–23, drop these throwing stars in East Rocky Mountain Five. The map has plenty of Dark Axe Stumps and is accessible to lower-level characters. Newly created characters can also try this area once they have enough damage and accuracy to defeat the monsters safely. Since Wooden Tops provide a useful early upgrade, this spot is worth visiting before moving on to higher-level farming areas.

Mokbis from Jr. Wraiths

The Kerning City Subway becomes a useful farming area as Assassins reach their thirties. Jr. Wraiths are around Level 34 and drop Mokbi Throwing Stars. They spawn frequently on Line Two, giving players a steady group of targets to hunt. Jr. Wraiths are undead monsters and take heavy damage from Holy and Fire elemental attacks. Clerics can clear this map especially well because of their effective attacks against undead enemies. Assassins can still farm here, but they should bring enough potions and make sure their attacks hit consistently.

Kumbis and Icicles in Mid-Game Maps

Level 37 Lupins drop Kumbi Throwing Stars and can be found in Monkey Swamp One. Players who want another option can visit The Tunnel That Lost Light, where Level 40 Cold Eyes are known for dropping Icicles. Drakes also appear in this tunnel and drop Kumbis. This gives players a chance to hunt for two different throwing star types in one area. The tunnel is therefore a useful mid-game farming choice, especially for Assassins who want to collect better equipment while gaining experience. Choose the map based on your damage, accuracy, and ability to handle the monsters there.

Tobi Throwing Stars from Dark Stone Golems

Tobis are a popular choice for higher-level Assassins. Dark Stone Golems, which are Level 58, drop these throwing stars and live in Sleepy Dungeon Five. Lupins also appear in this area, so players can hunt for Kumbis while farming for Tobis. Dark Stone Golems are weak to Holy magic, which makes the map useful for parties that include Clerics. However, the valuable drops and monster mix can make this area highly contested. Check the map before settling in, especially during busy play hours.

Steely Throwing Knives from Red Drakes

Steely Throwing Knives require players to hunt Level 60 Red Drakes. These monsters are found in Dangerous Valley Two, which is the only map in the game where Red Drakes appear. This makes the location easy to identify, but players have fewer alternatives if the map is crowded. Before starting a long farming session, make sure your Assassin can defeat Red Drakes at a reasonable pace. You can also prepare enough potions and leave inventory space for other drops.

Ilbi Throwing Stars from Mushmom

Ilbis are among the most powerful and valuable throwing stars available on Victoria Island. They drop from two boss monsters: Level 40 Mushmom and Level 55 Zombie Mushmom. Both bosses have a one-hour spawn timer, so players cannot farm them continuously like regular monsters. You need to watch their spawn times and reach the correct location before another player defeats them. Mushmom offers a chance to obtain Ilbis at a lower character level, while Zombie Mushmom provides another target for stronger players. Be prepared for competition, long waits, and repeated attempts when hunting for these rare stars.

When choosing a farming spot, consider more than the Weapon Attack of the throwing star. Lower-level Assassins should focus on monsters they can defeat quickly, while stronger characters can move to areas with better drops. A crowded map may also reduce your farming speed, so switching locations can sometimes be a better choice than waiting for other players to leave. Keep enough potions and recharge funds ready before each trip. Players who want to buy cheap MapleStory Classic World Mesos can also use them to prepare their equipment and supplies, giving them more time to focus on training and collecting throwing stars.
