This program is all about the players who changed teams, with new cards featuring their post-trade uniforms. There are several names to look at, but not every card is going to make a Diamond Dynasty lineup. Before spending resources on new players, it's worth checking which cards actually fit your current roster and playstyle.

Left-handed starting pitching is always useful, and Skubal has the kind of profile that can work well against strong Diamond Dynasty lineups. His value will come down to the final attributes, pitch mix, control, and how his pitches feel in actual games.

If you're currently missing a reliable lefty in your rotation, this is probably the first New Threads card I'd go after.

Even if you already have several strong starters, Skubal is worth testing before deciding where he fits.

Verdict: High priority

Jo Adell Brings the Power

Jo Adell is probably the most interesting offensive card in the group.

The obvious attraction is power. If you're looking for another right-handed bat that can punish mistakes, Adell could be a fun addition.

The one thing I'd watch closely is Contact. High Power is great, but low contact can make a hitter inconsistent, especially against better pitchers.

If his Contact, Speed, and defense are good enough, he could be more than just a bench bat.

Verdict: Worth trying if you need right-handed power

Daulton Varsho Is All About Flexibility

Varsho might not have the biggest offensive numbers in the program, but his versatility gives him a different kind of value.

Being able to use him at catcher and in the outfield can make roster building much easier. You don't have to dedicate your bench to several defensive replacements when one player can cover multiple spots.

For players who like changing lineups for Events, Programs, or different matchups, Varsho could end up being one of the more useful cards in the entire group.

Verdict: Very useful utility option

Taylor Ward Is a Solid All-Around Bat

Taylor Ward is less flashy than Adell, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

A balanced hitter with respectable Contact and Power can be easier to use over a long stretch of games. He doesn't need to hit a home run every other at-bat to provide value.

If your outfield is still missing a dependable bat, Ward is worth giving a chance.

Verdict: Solid lineup option

Luis Castillo Could Be Underrated

Luis Castillo is another card I wouldn't overlook.

Pitchers can sometimes perform much better than their overall rating suggests, especially when their pitch mix works well with your playstyle.

Castillo's control, velocity, breaking pitches, and off-speed options will determine how useful he really is. He probably isn't replacing the very best endgame starters, but he can still provide good rotation depth.

The Rest Are More Situational

The remaining cards — Arjun Nimmala, Ryan Zeferjahn, Luke Weaver, Liam Hicks, and A.J. Minter — are more likely to be useful for specific situations.

They can still help with Program missions, Collections, Events, or roster requirements. A bullpen card can also become surprisingly useful if the pitch mix works well, so I wouldn't completely judge these cards before trying them.

But if you're only interested in the strongest cards, they're probably not the first ones I'd prioritize.

Which Cards Should You Get First?

If you're trying to spend your time efficiently, I'd prioritize the program roughly like this:

1. Tarik Skubal – Best overall target
2. Jo Adell – Best power potential
3. Daulton Varsho – Best versatility
4. Taylor Ward – Balanced offensive option
5. Luis Castillo – Rotation depth

The rest are mainly worth grabbing for Collections, missions, or specific lineup needs.

The New Threads Program isn't necessarily going to completely change the MLB The Show 26 meta, and that's fine.

For me, the biggest reason to complete it is getting a few useful cards without needing to rebuild your entire lineup. Skubal is the standout, while Adell, Varsho, Ward, and Castillo all have situations where they can make sense.

If your roster already has elite players everywhere, don't feel like you need to force these cards into the lineup. But if you have a weak spot at starting pitcher, outfield, or catcher, this program gives you several options worth trying.

Sometimes the best card isn't the one with the highest overall rating — it's the one that actually fills a hole in your lineup.
