Crafting gives every class another way to make useful gear, weapons, and materials in MapleStory Classic World. The system opens at Level 10, and one character can learn all six professions. Still, some skills are more useful than others for each job. Warriors need metal gear and weapons, Magicians use gems and magical equipment, Bowmen need bows and arrows, and Thieves rely on claws, daggers, and leather gear. Before choosing a profession, check the recipes you need and keep enough Mesos for materials and crafting fees.

How the Six Crafting Skills Work
Each profession has its own NPC, recipes, materials, and skill level. You can learn all six, but raising every skill at once can use up the Mesos you need for potions and equipment. Most recipes turn monster drops into processed materials or finished items. You also need the right profession level and, for many equipment recipes, a high enough character level.
| Profession | Main Products | Master NPC and Town |
|---|---|---|
| Smithing | Ingots, helmets, gloves, shoes, shields | Silas Irons, Perion |
| Weaponcrafting | Claws, axes, daggers, blunt weapons, polearms, screws | Mr. Thunder, Perion |
| Tailoring | Cloth, thread, hats, gloves, shoes, capes | Francois, Ellinia |
| Woodcrafting | Bows, crossbows, wands, staves, arrows, bolts | Vicious, Henesys Market |
| Leatherworking | Processed leather, Bowman and Thief gear | JM From tha Streetz, Kerning City |
| Arcforge | Gems, parchment, magical weapons, scrolls | Chrishrama, Sleepywood |
Best Crafting Skills for Warriors
Smithing is a strong first choice for Warriors because it makes metal ingots, helmets, gloves, shoes, and shields. Weaponcrafting is a useful second skill for players who want to make axes, blunt weapons, polearms, or other available weapons. Start with Smithing if your armor is weak. Choose Weaponcrafting first if your current weapon slows down your training. You do not need to raise both skills at the same time, especially when your Mesos supply is limited.
Best Crafting Skills for Magicians
Arcforge is useful for Magicians who need gems, magical weapons, or scroll-related materials. It can also make Processed Parchment for scroll recipes. Tailoring is another good choice because it processes cloth and makes hats, gloves, shoes, capes, and other clothing. Woodcrafting also has some wand and staff recipes, so compare the available weapons before spending materials. If your clothing is outdated, start with Tailoring. If you need a magical weapon or gems, focus on Arcforge or the matching Woodcrafting recipe.
Best Crafting Skills for Bowmen
Woodcrafting should be the first choice for most Bowmen. It makes bows, crossbows, arrows, and bolts, which can help lower the cost of buying ammunition during long training sessions. One Processed Wood and one Stiff Feather can make 500 basic arrows. Version 1.1.0 also increased the output of bow and crossbow arrow recipes from 5 to 50, with the material requirements adjusted to match. Leatherworking is a useful second skill because it makes many Bowman gloves and shoes. Keep Tree Branches, Firewood, and Stiff Feathers for later recipes instead of selling every drop.
Best Crafting Skills for Thieves
Weaponcrafting is a good choice for Thieves who use claws or daggers. A stronger claw can improve Lucky Seven damage, while dagger users should compare attack speed and damage before choosing a weapon. Leatherworking is the other main option because it makes many Thief gloves and shoes. These items can also provide useful stats such as LUK, DEX, or accuracy. Choose Weaponcrafting when your weapon is the main problem, and choose Leatherworking when your armor needs an upgrade.
Choosing Between Gear and Meso Farming
The best profession is the one that gives your character a useful item without wasting too many resources. Check the full cost of a recipe, including its materials, processed components, and crafting fee. A weapon that reduces the number of attacks needed to defeat a monster may be worth making. A small upgrade that costs several expensive gems may not be. Sometimes selling raw materials is better than turning them into a finished item.
| Your Situation | Better Choice |
|---|---|
| Your weapon is outdated | Raise the profession that makes your weapon |
| Your armor or gloves are weak | Focus on Smithing, Tailoring, or Leatherworking |
| You often run out of arrows or bolts | Use Woodcrafting |
| You need gems or scroll materials | Use Arcforge |
| A recipe costs more than the finished item is worth | Save or sell the materials |
Materials, Fees, and Common Mistakes
Do not spend all your Mesos on crafting at once. Keep enough for potions, travel, ammunition, and equipment repairs or upgrades. Check every recipe before you confirm it, including the profession level, character level, and intermediate materials. Some processed items, such as ingots, screws, Processed Wood, leather, and gems, are also used in other recipes. Keep a small supply if you plan to craft again. If you cannot use the finished equipment yet, wait until your character meets its level requirement.
A Practical Crafting Order for Each Class
Warriors can start with Smithing and add Weaponcrafting when they need a new weapon. Magicians can choose Arcforge for gems and magical items or Tailoring for clothing. Bowmen should begin with Woodcrafting and add Leatherworking for armor. Thieves can focus on Weaponcrafting for claws and daggers or Leatherworking for gloves and shoes. You can learn the other professions later when their recipes become useful. Before starting a large crafting session, check your material supply and keep enough MapleStory Classic World Mesos for the fees and your next equipment upgrade.
