MLB The Show 26: Collection Reward Predictions

Diamond Dynasty players have another big content update to look forward to on September 18. San Diego Studio has confirmed four new additions, including two Programs, new Mini Seasons and Diamond Quest content, a new Event Program, and a new Legends & Flashbacks Collection.

There is plenty to play through, but the Collection is the part that has my attention. The reward has not been revealed yet, so the big question is whether we are about to get another card that can shake up top Diamond Dynasty lineups.

What Is Coming on September 18?

The September 18 update includes:

Two New Programs & Collection
New Mini Seasons & Diamond Quest
New Event Program
New Legends & Flashbacks Collection

That is a solid amount of new content for one update. With the current Diamond Dynasty card pool already packed with high-rated players, the new rewards will need to be good enough to give players a reason to add them to their teams.

The new Legends & Flashbacks Collection is easily the most interesting part.

We still do not know the exact requirements or final reward, but this is the collection I would prepare for first.

Legends and Flashbacks cards have been a major part of Diamond Dynasty throughout the year. A new collection gives players another reason to hold onto cards they might otherwise sell.

The biggest question is the reward.

Could it be another 99 OVR card? It is possible, especially this late in the Diamond Dynasty cycle, but San Diego Studio has not confirmed the reward yet. The new card could also be tied to a different premium series or a popular former MLB star who has not received a top-end card this year.

There are a lot of possibilities, but I would not spend big on specific players until the actual collection requirements are announced.

Should You Save Your Legends and Flashbacks?

If you have extra Legends and Flashbacks sitting in your inventory, I would hold onto them for now.

Once the collection goes live, cards that are suddenly needed for the requirements can become much more expensive. Selling a card today and having to buy it back after the update is not a great way to spend your Stubs.

It is also worth checking your collection before buying anything. You may already have enough cards to make a big start on the new collection.

And if you are planning to buy cards, keeping some MLB The Show 26 Stubss ready is probably a better idea than spending everything before September 18.

Two New Programs

Two new Programs are also coming with the update.

The exact rewards have not been fully revealed, so there is no reason to guess which players will be included. However, new Programs should give players another progression path with player rewards, packs, and other Diamond Dynasty items.

If you are trying to improve your roster, I would start with the easier missions and objectives first. There is usually no reason to rush into the harder parts of a Program when you can pick up some quick progress from simple gameplay tasks.

New Mini Seasons and Diamond Quest

New Mini Seasons and Diamond Quest content will also arrive on September 18.

For players who prefer offline modes, this is probably the easiest part of the update to jump into. Fresh objectives and rewards give you another way to earn progress while testing different cards.

It can also be useful for players working toward the new collection. Any packs or cards earned along the way could help reduce the amount of Stubs needed later.

New Event Program

A new Event Program is also scheduled for September 18.

The Event should come with its own roster restrictions, which means this could be a good chance to use some Legends and Flashbacks that have been sitting on the bench.

The exact restrictions and rewards will matter once the Event goes live. For now, there is not much reason to build a lineup until we know the rules.

What I Would Do Before September 18

Check your Legends & Flashbacks collection.
Hold onto useful cards instead of selling them immediately.
Finish easy objectives from current Programs.
Keep some Stubs available.
Do not buy expensive cards just because you think they might be required.

The last point is important. It is easy to overpay before a collection when everyone starts guessing which cards will be needed. Waiting for the official requirements is usually the safer move.

September 18 could be a very good day for MLB The Show 26 Diamond Dynasty players. There will be plenty of new content to play, but the Legends & Flashbacks Collection is the update I am most interested in.

If the final reward is a strong 99 OVR player, it could quickly become one of the cards everyone wants. But until the reward and requirements are officially revealed, it is better to treat the big-card talk as speculation.

For now, check your collection, keep your Legends and Flashbacks, and save some Stubs.
