Monopoly GO Trick or Treat Preview: New Board Raid Event

Halloween is coming to Monopoly GO with a new feature called Trick or Treat. Scheduled to arrive on September 23, 2026, this new Board Raid-style feature will send players to another player’s board, where they can pick houses, collect treats, compete in dice duels, and even send gifts to friends.

Note: The feature is still upcoming, so some details may change before its official release. Based on the current game data, here is an early preview of what players can expect from Trick or Treat.

When Will Trick or Treat Start in Monopoly GO?

According to the current schedule, Trick or Treat is set to begin on September 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time (17:00 UTC). It is currently scheduled to remain available until November 25, 2026, at 11:59 a.m. Eastern Time (16:59 UTC).

That gives the Halloween-themed feature a surprisingly long run of around nine weeks, covering most of the upcoming Monster Mash album season. However, the listed end time does not exactly match the current album schedule, so players should check the in-game timer after Trick or Treat goes live for the final dates.

How Does Trick or Treat Work in Monopoly GO?

Trick or Treat is built around a simple house-picking mechanic. During a visit, players will see five houses and need to choose where to look for treats. The interesting part is that a hidden ghost can appear and end the visit, adding a little risk to each selection.

Players can choose which friend to visit before picking a house. Once a house is selected, the friend is locked in for that selection. A successful pick then leads to a dice comparison between the visiting player and the board owner. The player with the higher result receives the treat, while matching dice create a Win-Win outcome that rewards both players.

The ghost is the main surprise during a visit. If players find the ghost, the current run ends, but the treats they have already collected are kept. Some gifts discovered during visits can also be sent to the friend involved, making Trick or Treat more interactive than a standard Board Raid.

In addition, Trick or Treat is not limited to visiting other players. The feature includes an incoming gift inbox and a visit history, allowing players to keep track of gifts and previous visits. There may also be situations where a friend cannot be visited because of a full treat bag or visit limit. If that happens, the game should display a message explaining the reason, and players can select another eligible friend.

How Do You Trigger Trick or Treat in Monopoly GO?

The upcoming feature can reportedly be triggered through Railroad encounters or Chance cards. This gives players more opportunities to enter Trick or Treat naturally while playing on the Monopoly GO board.

Since the feature is connected to normal board gameplay, players will not necessarily need to enter a completely separate game mode every time they want to participate.

Trick or Treat Rewards and Tournament Scoring  in Monopoly GO

The current data also suggests that Trick or Treat rewards can be affected by the player's roll multiplier. This means successful house selections may provide increased rewards when a higher multiplier is active.

Trick or Treat can also contribute to tournament progress when the active tournament includes scoring for successful house selections. However, the exact rewards and tournament points can vary depending on the event configuration available at the time.
