The second Public Test Realm (PTR) for Diablo 4 is coming soon and will be available from June 25 to July 2 for players with a PC Battle.net account. This allows you to test upcoming changes and features for Season 5. Here's What You Need to Know!

New Eternal Questline: The Eyes of the Enemy

Diablo 4 Season 5 The Eyes of the Enemy

Season 5 unveils a thrilling new questline titled ‘The Eyes of the Enemy’. This captivating story unfolds in Hawezar, where disturbances have been reported among the cityfolk. Through this questline, not only do characters develop and alliances shift, but players also get to confront the newly introduced Infernal Hordes. This quest is accessible in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms, enhancing gameplay with its challenging combat sequences.

New Endgame: The Infernal Hordes

Diablo 4 Season 5 New Endgame The Infernal Hordes

In Diablo 4 season 5 - players will finally be returning to Hell in the new endgame content, Infernal Hordes! Infernal Hordes are similar to Nightmare Dungeons, but instead of delving into dungeons, players are entering Hell itself to fend off wave after wave of increasingly difficult Hellspawn. Players will become eligible to enter Infernal Hordes by completing a quest chain in Zarbinzet upon reaching World Tier 3, unlocking access to The Infernal Horde Compass and the Abyssal Scrolls required to upgrade them - the Compass behaves much like a Nightmare Dungeon key, opening a portal to Hell upon use.

New Weapons and Items

As mentioned during their Season 5 PTR stream, over 50 new Unique and Legendary powers will be added to the game in the upcoming season. Notable new items include the Basilisk for Druids, the Mortacrux for Necromancers, the Third Blade for Barbarians, the Umbacrux for Rogues, and Vox Omnium for Sorcerers. These additions are designed to expand Diablo 4's legendary and unique items and provide players with more powerful tools. In addition, Unique items will feature higher upper limits to their rolls and greater variability in their rolls.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

Quality-of-life improvements are also being implemented for endgame bosses. Players can look forward to streamlined engagements with bosses, such as not having to reset dungeons to repeat boss battles, and simplified summoning procedures for opponents. For example, summoning Varshan now only requires Malignant Hearts. Trembling Hands, Blackened Femurs, and Gurgling Heads have been removed from the game.

Future Accessibility Items

Diablo 4 Season 5 PTR Future Accessibility Items

In the Season 5 PTR, there are some accessibility features. These features are designed to make the in-game experience more accessible and enjoyable, pushing the boundaries of gameplay ease and immersion.

Auto-Pin: This is a new feature that automatically drops a map pin on the destination of your selected quest or task from your in-game Journal. When a pin is dropped, your mini-map shows a route to follow to get to the chosen destination.
Audio Navigation Assistance: With this feature enabled, the player receives spatial audio pings that direct the player towards their placed pin on the overworld map. This feature, in conjunction with auto-pin navigation, allows players to navigate through quest content while having their destination tracked through audio navigation.
Compass: The compass feature enables an on-screen HUD element that circles around the player and points towards their placed in-world pin. In combination with auto-pin, this provides consistent guidance to the player. Players can change the color of the arrow to match their particular needs and ensure it is clearly visible while slaughtering the denizens of hell.
