Fortnite New Poison Trap Item

It looks like Fortnite may soon add a new Poison Trap item into the game if a new leak is anything to go by.

Earlier today, players logging into Fortnite would see a new item in the news feed: The Poison Trap. Described as follows: "This is a poison trap! Watch your step lest you trigger a trap!" But soon the message was removed from the game.

According to reliable sources, the item will appear in the next patch tomorrow. Not all versions have received news updates, but you should see it soon. I can't wait to use this in creative. Has an Indiana Jones vibe.

This new trap seems to include small holes that launch darts/arrows where people are getting closer. Leaks show this will damage you to 1/2 a heart without killing you. We suspect that darts will exert some damage over time, similar to the ticking damage of a Stink Bomb.

However, once applied, the damage caused by the trap may or may not be removed. Naturally, healing will stop the trend of damage.

The rest of the trap effect is hard to predict; it will follow players outside the trap area, or a gas cloud similar to Stink Bomb. Can the healing item counteract the DOT effect of the trap? Stay with us on this one; it gets a little confusing. Some players said hope the new item doesn't disappoint like ice traps.

Also, patch v8.20 will arrive with downtime starting at 5 AM EST. We also could see a permanent ranked game mode coming with the release of the v8.20.

What are your thoughts on the new Poison Trap item coming to Fortnite?

New Excavation Site Appeared on Fortnite's Map, What Does It Mean?

At some point this week in Fortnite, Epic sneaked a new dig site onto the battle royale's map. If you would like to know what dig site looks like, head to the northwest of the Paradise Palms area. The excavation site seems to be full of dirt, just like any mine or quarry around the map. However, after careful observation, it appears that the whole is not full of dirt, but rocks.
