Badges are a key element in the NBA 2K series of games that enhances a player's characteristic skills to excel in the game. NBA 2K25 has made changes to the badge system with a total of 40 badges, including 15 new badges. The following document will list all the NBA 2K25 badges and explained what each badge does.

The new courtside report revealed that NBA 2K25 will only have 40 total badges in the MyCareer/MyPlayer Mode. This is a reduction from the 80 total badges in NBA 2K24. Here is a list of all NBA 2K25 badges:

| Handles for Days | A player takes less of an energy hit when performing consecutive dribble moves, allowing them to chain together combos quicker and for longer periods of time |
| Lightning Launch | Speeds up launches when attacking from the perimeter. |
| Strong Handle | Reduces the likelihood of being bothered by defenders when dribbling. |
| Unpluckable | Defenders have a tougher time poking the ball free with their steal attempts |
| Versatile Visionary | Improves a player's ability to thread and fit tight passes, including alley-oops, quickly and on time. |

| Off Ball Pest | Makes players more difficult to get past when playing off-ball, as the can grab and hold their matchup and don't get their ankles broken as often |
| Pick Dodger | Improves a player's ability to navigate through and around screens while on defense. At the Hall of Fame level, can blow through screens in the park or blacktop |
| Post Lockdown | Strengthens a player's ability to effectively defend moves in the post, with an increased chance at stripping the opponent |

2K has eliminated Floor Setters in NBA 2K25 but has introduced Badge Elevators which can permanently boost badges up to 3 levels. These are unlocked via Season Rewards, which confirms the return of Season Rewards.
There is a new Badge Perk system in NBA 2K25. There are 3 perks, Max +1, Participation and Synergy. Synergy sounds the most impactful initially as it allows you to make badge progress off the actions of your teammates. Participation will guarantee a floor amount of experience each game for a badge and Max +1 will allow you to go 1 level above a badges max potential.

In NBA 2K25 there are now only two badge tiers and your height determines which tier your badges are in. This is very important to know because the new +1 Max Badge level can only be applied to one Tier 1 badge and one Tier 2 badge. This table should which tier each badge is in at which height.
