In Path of Exile 2, getting better poe 2 items is key to making progress, especially in the early stages when your character might not be fully built yet. While the game brings a lot of exciting new mechanics and combat, loot is still the heart of your progression. Early on, if you’re struggling to clear content, the right gear can make a huge difference. Here’s a casual guide to help you farm gear early in the game without getting stuck.
The best approach in the early game is boss farming. Sure, drops can be a bit on the low side, and crafting materials like Orbs of Alchemy and Blacksmith’s Whetstones might seem rare, but bosses are a great way to score better gear. They tend to have higher chances of dropping valuable items and materials, setting you up for future upgrades and trading.
A quick and easy way to farm gear is by resetting instances. This is a great way to respawn bosses, enemies, and loot in a given zone, letting you farm again without having to wait.
How to Reset Instances and Farm Bosses
Interact with a Waypoint: Waypoints are your go-to fast travel points in the game.
Pick the Area: Choose the area you want to reset.
Reset the Instance: Hold Ctrl + Left Click (or A/X on controllers) to reset the instance and get a fresh version of the zone.
Resetting the map will refresh everything, including enemy spawns, chest locations, and bosses. It’s a quick way to grind for better gear without too much downtime.
If you’re playing through Act 1 and Act 2, there are a couple of spots where you can farm gear efficiently. These areas have bosses and enemies that drop decent loot, so they’re worth visiting if you feel like you’re stuck or undergeared.
Mausoleum of the Praetor (Act 1) is a solid spot early on. The main boss, Praetor Draven, can be tough at first, but once you figure out his attack patterns, he gets easier. However, the real treasure here is the Forgotten Riches room. While exploring the Mausoleum, you might come across a hidden room with two coffins and a statue. To open the treasure chest inside, look for a switch on one of the pillars. When you hit the switch, the chest will unlock, giving you some Gold and potentially some good loot. If the switch isn’t there, just reset the instance and try again.
For a more straightforward farming spot, head to the Mawdun Mine in Act 2. The Miner enemies here are good for farming materials like Blacksmith’s Whetstones and Armorer’s Scraps, which are useful for crafting. The path to the boss, Rudja, is usually pretty easy, but Rudja herself can be tricky. She hits hard, so be careful, but she’s worth farming. She can drop yellow (rare) items and valuable crafting materials like Exalted Orbs and Regal Orbs, which are crucial for upgrading your gear.
So if you're struggling to progress or just need better loot, try farming in the Tombs or Mawdun Mines. These locations should provide you with the gear and materials you need to advance and make early moves much smoother.
