PoE 2 Ascendancy Points Guide

Ascendancy Points 1 and 2

  • The Trial of the Sekhemasvia the quest with Balbala's Barya in Act 2.

The Trial of the Sekhemas is one of three Ascension Trials, first accessible in Act 2. It is a randomized gauntlet of rooms filled with monsters and traps that must be traversed before the player runs out of Honour. It is based on the Forbidden Sanctum from Path of Exile 1.

Completing a floor in the Trial at certain level thresholds will allow players to unlock their Ascendancy class and ascendancy passive skill points. The room also contains a Keth Forge to convert leftover Sacred Water into keys, and Balbala appears as a merchant to sell Relics.

The first ascendancy and the first set of points (2) can be obtained with the quest item Balbala's Barya. To obtain subsequent ascendency points with this ascendancy method you must complete more floors on the Trial of the Sekhemas with a random drop key. The number of floor available is determined by the area level of the Djinn Baryas used.

Ascendancy Points 3 and 4

  • The Trial of Chaos via the quest with the Chimeral Inscribed Ultimatum in Act 3.

The Trials of Chaos is one of three Ascension Trials, first accessible in Act 3, off the Chimeral Wetlands. It is a gauntlet of rooms filled with monsters and traps of increasing difficulty that must be completed without dying. It is based on Ultimatum from Path of Exile 1.

The first boss will be encountered after the first three chambers. There are multiple possible bosses and the order of the bosses is random. The Altar of Ascendancy will be accessible after defeating the boss. For exiles who reach it for the first time, The Altar of Ascendancy grants two ascendancy points and allows them to choose an ascendancy class.

Each Trial of Chaos run has a number of trials or rounds, each separated into its own room. The number of trials is based on the item level of the Inscribed Ultimatum used to open it:
