You can catch Tynamo in Wild Zone 10, but only after completing Main Mission 9: “Chase That Mysterious Pokemon!”
Once that mission is done, head to the east exit of Zone 10. Tynamo appears in the water, so keep an eye out for small white sparks swimming around.
It can spawn during both Day and Night, but in my experience, the Night rate feels slightly higher. If you don't see any, just fast travel out and back, or advance time by resting on a Pokecenter bench.
It's small and easy to miss, so move slowly. Tynamo likes to zip away the moment you get too close.

Because Tynamo hovers over water, catching it can be a little annoying if you rush in. A few simple tricks help a lot:
If it flees, don't worry. The respawn cycle in that area is pretty fast.
You can't buy normal Tynamo from any in-game shop, but some players like collecting shinies or using them for trades.
If you're looking for a shiny Tynamo, U4GM is a safe place to buy Shiny Pokemon Legends ZA, and Tynamo usually sits around $2.49.
It's a quick option if you're mainly a collector or if you don't want to roll the spawn dice.
Tynamo is not meant to be strong on its own — its job is simply to evolve. Here are its base stats:
These numbers make Tynamo usable only in the early game or for quick leveling. Most players evolve it as soon as possible.
Tynamo has a simple two-step evolution line:
The Thunder Stone requirement is actually nice, because it lets you time your final evolution. Some players prefer evolving later so Eelektrik can learn more moves before becoming Eelektross.
If you only look at Tynamo's stats, you might say no. But if you look at Eelektross, the final evolution, the answer is absolutely yes.
Eelektross has:
Tynamo is basically a small investment that turns into a big payoff later.
Its biggest appeal isn't Tynamo itself — it's the evolution line's unique feel. Tynamo's Pokedex note says it best:
“One alone can emit only a trickle of electricity, so a group of them gathers to unleash a powerful electric shock.”
It feels like catching a tiny spark that eventually becomes a living electric generator. If you enjoy raising small or weak Pokemon into monsters, this line always feels rewarding.
Tynamo may be small, but it leads to one of the best Electric Pokemon you can get in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. You can find it in Wild Zone 10, catch it after Mission 9, and evolve it all the way up to Eelektross, a fan-favorite powerhouse. And if you're hunting shinies, U4GM offers a safe way to get a shiny Tynamo fast.
