The Tempered Armor Vest is an Ultra-rarity plate carrier in Modern Warfare 4 DMZ. To craft it, players must first find its hidden recipe and collect three types of materials. This guide covers the recipe location, The Doctor encounter, material sources, and the costs involved in crafting this important piece of MW4 DMZ Items.

MW4 DMZ Tempered Armor Vest Guide: Recipe and Crafting

How to Unlock the Tempered Armor Vest Recipe

The recipe is inside The Doctor’s Command Office at Mirae General Hospital, located in grid F5.

Follow these steps:

  • Find The Doctor patrolling the hospital grounds, terraces, and front street.
  • Eliminate him and collect The Doctor’s Command Office Key.
  • Enter the hospital and take the main stairwell to the upper floor.
  • Find the large wooden double doors at the end of the corridor and unlock the office.
  • Search the large LT crate to collect the Tempered Armor Vest recipe.
  • Extract successfully to unlock the vest at the printer.

The recipe is consumed when collected, and successful extraction grants 5,000 DMZ Cash credit. The Doctor can also drop a Lieutenant Dog Tag worth 25,000 extraction credit, making it an additional reward during the encounter.

Tempered Armor Vest Crafting Recipe

Once the recipe is unlocked, you need the following materials:

MaterialQuantityRarity
Military Composites2Legendary
Ballistic Fabric4Epic
Rigid Synthetics10Uncommon

Military Composites are the hardest part of this recipe because they do not have a printer recipe. The other two materials can be printed after unlocking their corresponding ingredient upgrades.

Where to Find Each Crafting Material

Military Composites

You need two Military Composites, both of which must be collected through looting or drops. Colossus Commander encounters are a known source, but the material is not guaranteed after every kill.

Reported encounter areas include:

  • Chang-san Air Base armory during Operation Iron Citadel
  • The Citadel at 14th Political Prison
  • The gate at Cheonwang Peak Array

Because these materials are required for several high-tier crafts, secure them when possible instead of risking them during another deployment.

Ballistic Fabric

Four Ballistic Fabric are required. You can loot them or print them after unlocking Epic Ingredient Printing.

Each piece costs:

  • 100 Synthetics
  • 3 High-Tenacity Fibers

Printing all four requires 400 Synthetics and 12 High-Tenacity Fibers. High-Tenacity Fibers cannot be printed, so you must collect them separately.

Chang-san Air Base armory and barracks are useful areas to search. The rooftop at La Grande Vie in Songdo Wharf is another reported location.

To unlock Epic Ingredient Printing, the upgrade requires 100,000 DMZ Cash, 10 Binding Catalysts, 10 Printed Circuit Boards, and 5 Military Composites.

Rigid Synthetics

The final requirement is 10 Rigid Synthetics. These can be found in residential areas, including civilian duffel bags, or printed after unlocking Uncommon Ingredient Printing.

Each printed piece costs 20 Synthetics and 20 Metals. Printing all ten requires 200 Synthetics and 200 Metals.

The upgrade costs 50,000 DMZ Cash, 20 Biomaterials, 10 High-Tenacity Fibers, and 5 Comms Modules. If you are still collecting materials, check residential loot areas before spending resources on printing.

Total Materials and Crafting Priorities

If you print all four Ballistic Fabric and ten Rigid Synthetics, you will need:

MaterialTotal
Synthetics600
Metals200
High-Tenacity Fibers12
Military Composites2

These figures exclude the costs of unlocking the printer upgrades. The most practical approach is to collect Military Composites first, then gather the remaining materials and complete the required upgrades.

Is the Tempered Armor Vest Worth Crafting?

The vest has an Ultra rarity and uses enhanced plates, but its exact plate count and protection bonus are not specified. Avoid assuming it has the same stats as a Tempered Vest from an older DMZ version.

If you already have the required materials, crafting it adds another high-rarity carrier to your available gear. Players can also use Bot Lobbies MW4 or CoD MW4 Redeem Codes to make supported Multiplayer progression more convenient, freeing up more time to work on loadouts and prepare for challenging DMZ deployments. Keep in mind that the vest itself still requires its specific recipe, materials, and successful extraction.
