Fallout 76’s latest update, Burning Springs, brings a fresh layer of excitement to the wasteland with the introduction of Bounty Hunts. These new missions allow players to engage in high-stakes combat, hunt elite targets, and earn unique rewards, all while exploring the rugged new region.

Unlocking the Bounty Hunt System

To begin, players must meet a few requirements. Your character should be level 25 or higher, and it’s recommended to reach level 30+ for a smoother experience. Additionally, you need access to the Burning Springs area. Once you visit this region, the Bounty Hunt system will unlock automatically, giving you access to new quests and activities.

Taking on Standard Bounties

The first step in your bounty-hunting journey is completing standard Bounty Hunts. These missions can be found at Bounty Boards or given by the Bounty Coordinator NPCs in key settlements. Standard bounties often involve tasks like defeating elite enemies, clearing small enemy camps, or tracking mutated creatures. These missions are designed for solo or small-group play and provide an excellent introduction to the new mechanics.

Completing these tasks rewards players with Legendary Cores, crafting mods, and Bounty Tokens. These tokens are essential for unlocking higher-level, more challenging bounties later on.

Unlocking Boss-Level Bounties

Once you’ve completed several standard Bounties, you’ll earn enough Bounty Tokens to unlock Boss Bounties. These elite missions pit you against high-level world bosses with unique mechanics and high health pools. Boss bounties are best approached with a team of three to four players due to their difficulty, but the rewards are worth it. Successful completion grants high-tier Legendary weapons, armor with unique perks, and rare crafting blueprints.

Tips for Success

  • Prioritize firepower over flashy builds—sustained damage is key to defeating bosses.
  • Prepare with healing items and radiation resistance gear, especially for hazardous zones.
  • Join public channels to find teammates for tough bounties.
  • Don’t worry about failure—unsuccessful attempts don’t penalize mainline progression and can be retried.

The Bounty Hunt system is a thrilling addition that adds depth and replayability to Fallout 76. Whether you’re completing solo hunts or teaming up for a challenging boss fight, there’s a bounty for every kind of wasteland survivor.
