Players can form parties to play together in Path of Exile 2, supporting up to six players in one party. To create or join public parties, players can open the Social window by pressing the S key. Invitations to parties can also be sent by selecting a player's name in chat, clicking on their character in town, or typing "/invite playername" directly into chat.

Alternatively, two players can participate in a "couch co-op" experience using the same player account and device across all available platforms.

When playing in a group, players can significantly boost their chances of obtaining valuable PoE 2 Currency items. Party mechanics increase currency drop rates based on the number of players present, making cooperative play an efficient way to farm essential resources like orbs and crafting materials. Whether you're supporting the team or landing the killing blow, party synergy can greatly enhance overall loot quality and quantity, making it an ideal method for farming poe 2 currency efficiently.

Effect on Monsters

NameDetails
LifeMonsters gain additional life for each extra party member.

Currency and JewelryCurrency, rings, and amulets see approximately a 100% increase in drop rates per extra party member.
Total Item DropsTotal item drops increase roughly by 28% per additional party member, with distribution skewed toward generally useful item classes (confirmation needed based on Jonathan's pre-EA interview).
Item RarityItem rarity modifiers from gear only apply when the killing blow is landed by the player possessing those modifiers.

Path of Exile 2: Party Effect Gameplay

CategoryDescription
Effect on Flasks and CharmsAll nearby players earn charges for flasks and charms when a monster is killed. This provides consistent flask uptime and allows the entire party to benefit from each kill.
Effects on Skills and Item ModifiersSkills and item modifiers that affect allies, such as auras, apply to all nearby players within the aura's range. When multiple versions of the same aura are active, the game will only use the highest effect or level version. Players can also combine skills for synergistic effects, such as igniting another player's gas clouds. Slowing effects applied to monsters are reduced by 10% for each additional player beyond the first, with a maximum of 50% reduced slow at six players.
Benefits of Partying

Partying allows players to distribute roles and stack powerful combinations of buffs and debuffs. This enables more efficient clearing, stronger survivability, and more creative playstyles. Examples include:

  • Aurabot – focuses on stacking auras for team-wide bonuses
  • Cursebot – applies multiple curses to amplify party damage
  • MF Culler – specializes in item rarity and finishes monsters with Culling Strike for optimal loot drops
Curses and Marks LimitationCurses and marks have strict limits on how many can be applied to a monster. If multiple party members apply them simultaneously, they may overwrite each other's effects based on priority rules. This can lead to conflicts between players with incompatible builds.
Pace and MovementParties require players to move and engage enemies together. Players who fall behind or prefer a slower playstyle may struggle to keep up, potentially dying if they lose the support of their group.
Lag and Screen ClutterWith more players casting skills at once, screen clutter increases significantly. This can cause visual chaos and make it hard to see important enemy mechanics or hazards. Input delays, lag spikes, or even game freezes may occur due to network differences or hardware limitations, especially in international or public parties. Cosmetic microtransactions can add further visual effects that worsen the clutter.
Item Allocation ConcernsIn public parties, item drops may be allocated to different players based on the chosen loot mode. Players who consistently miss out on valuable drops may feel frustrated or discouraged, especially if they contribute significantly to the party’s progress.
