ARC Raiders Ascending the Mountain Rare Item Locations

The Ascending the Mountain Project in ARC Raiders has four stages and requires 130 total items. While many of the materials are easy to collect through normal raids, four items can cause the most trouble: Headphones, Ruined Parachute, Broken Guidance System, and Vaporizer Regulator.

Headphones: Need 2

Headphones are required during Phase 1: Research High-Altitude Mechanics, with two needed for the Project. They are primarily found through normal loot searches rather than enemy drops.

The best approach is to search Residential areas and containers where civilian loot can appear. Buried City is particularly useful because its residential areas also contain other materials needed for Ascending the Mountain.

Instead of running a dedicated raid only for Headphones, pick them up whenever you are already searching apartments, drawers, cabinets, and other residential containers.

You only need two, so this should usually be treated as a passive pickup rather than a major farming target.

Ruined Parachute: Need 2

The Project requires two Ruined Parachutes during Phase 3: Implement Landing Capabilities. The item can be found in containers on Buried City.

Buried City is especially efficient because you can work on several Phase 3 objectives during the same raid. Alongside Ruined Parachutes, the area is also useful for finding Breathtaking Snow Globes, which are another Phase 3 requirement.

The key is to search containers throughout the city rather than spending too much time looking for one specific building. Once you find both Ruined Parachutes, stop farming them and move your attention to the remaining requirements.

Broken Guidance System: Need 3

The Broken Guidance System is one of the main bottlenecks in Phase 4: Final Tweaks, where you need three.

The most useful location to target is the Hydroponic Dome Complex on Dam Battlegrounds. Search the red lockers inside the complex for a chance to obtain Broken Guidance Systems.

This location is particularly convenient because the same area can also be relevant to other Ascending the Mountain requirements. If you are already visiting Hydroponic Dome Complex for earlier Project materials, keep any Broken Guidance Systems you find rather than discarding them.

For efficient farming, focus on completing a compact container route instead of crossing the entire map for individual loot sources. The Project needs three, so every useful industrial container you can check along the route matters.

Vaporizer Regulator: Need 3

The Vaporizer Regulator is different from the other three materials because it comes from a specific ARC enemy.

Ascending the Mountain requires three Vaporizer Regulators in Phase 4. The item is obtained by scavenging destroyed Vaporizers.

Farm Vaporizers During Close Scrutiny

If you specifically need Vaporizer Regulators, Close Scrutiny is the map condition you should target.

Vaporizers appear during Close Scrutiny and protect newly arriving Assessor probes. Their exact locations are not fixed to one permanent point. Instead, look for the Assessor probe after it arrives and move toward the landing area.

Multiple Vaporizers can appear around an Assessor probe, so finding one event can give you several opportunities to collect Regulators in the same raid.

This makes Close Scrutiny much more efficient than randomly searching maps for the enemy.

How to Approach the Vaporizer

Do not rush directly into the fight if the area is crowded. Vaporizers are dangerous ARC enemies, and the probe location can also attract other Raiders.

Use cover, identify the Vaporizer's position, and deal damage while limiting the amount of time you spend exposed. Once the Vaporizer is destroyed, search its loot for the Vaporizer Regulator.

If your only goal is the Project requirement, you do not need to keep farming Vaporizers after collecting all three Regulators.

Best Way to Farm the Four Materials

The most efficient strategy is to avoid treating every Project material as a separate farming mission.

1. Pick Up Headphones Along the Way

Headphones only require two. Search residential containers whenever your route takes you through suitable areas instead of dedicating entire raids to them.

2. Combine Ruined Parachute Farming With Buried City Objectives

When running Buried City, search containers for Ruined Parachutes while working on other Project requirements. This can also help with the Breathtaking Snow Globe requirement from Phase 3.

3. Prioritize Hydroponic Dome Complex for Broken Guidance Systems

Once you reach the later stages, make the Hydroponic Dome Complex one of your main targets. Search the red lockers carefully and keep any Broken Guidance Systems you find.

4. Save Dedicated Runs for Vaporizer Regulators

Vaporizer Regulators deserve a different approach. When Close Scrutiny is available, use those raids to specifically hunt Assessor probes and the Vaporizers protecting them.

This is much more reliable than hoping to encounter a Vaporizer during a normal raid.

Do Not Waste Useful Materials

Ascending the Mountain has a large overall material requirement, so it is worth planning ahead.

The Project needs 30 Sensors, 20 Wires, 15 Advanced Electrical Components, 10 Mechanical Components, 10 Explosive Compounds, and several other materials in addition to the four covered here.

If you find a future-stage ARC Raiders Items while working on an earlier stage, keep it when your inventory allows. This can significantly reduce the amount of backtracking required later.

The same principle applies to crafting materials. Do not automatically sell or recycle resources that may be required for later Project stages.

The four materials in this guide are easiest to handle when you use different farming strategies for each one.

Headphones are best collected from residential containers, while Ruined Parachutes can be targeted through container searches on Buried City. For Broken Guidance Systems, focus on the red lockers inside Hydroponic Dome Complex on Dam Battlegrounds. Vaporizer Regulators require a more focused approach: queue for Close Scrutiny, locate an Assessor probe, and hunt the Vaporizers guarding it.

Most importantly, do not waste raids by farming every requirement separately. Keep useful Project materials when you find them, combine objectives on the same map whenever possible, and save dedicated Close Scrutiny runs for the Vaporizer Regulator grind.

With the right route and a little preparation, these four bottleneck materials become much easier to collect and can help you finish Ascending the Mountain with fewer wasted raids.
