Mythic Uniques are among the biggest endgame goals in Diablo 4 Season 15, and the game now gives players several ways to hunt them. The most talked-about method is the return of classic Prime Evil runs, with Worldstone Keep and Baal becoming a popular farming route for players looking for repeatable Mythic opportunities.
Season 15's Waking Nightmares recreate famous locations from earlier Diablo games. The Baal route follows the final part of Diablo II, taking players through the Ancients' Way, Arreat Summit, the Ancients, Worldstone Keep, and finally the Echo of Baal. Higher-difficulty versions remain available as repeatable endgame content.
However, Baal should not be treated as the only Mythic farming method. Lair Bosses and Kurast Undercity can complement the route, especially when you have the required keys or Tributes.
Why Baal Runs Are Popular in Season 15
Worldstone Keep is attractive because it combines several useful rewards in one activity.
The route includes the three Ancients — Madawc, Korlic, and Talic — before the final Baal encounter. They can provide additional loot and Royal Gem rewards, making the dungeon useful even when a Mythic does not appear.
More importantly, the Baal encounter gives you another opportunity to obtain valuable endgame loot, including Mythic Unique drops and seasonal progression rewards.
The key advantage is repeatability. Once you have unlocked the appropriate version, you can run the activity repeatedly without consuming a Lair Key for every attempt.
That makes Worldstone Keep a convenient option when you want to keep farming instead of waiting for more boss-summoning materials.
The Baal Waking Nightmare follows a much more recognizable Diablo II progression than a normal Diablo 4 dungeon.
The route can be summarized as:
Ancients' Way → Arreat Summit → The Ancients → Worldstone Keep → Baal's Waves → Echo of Baal
You do not need to clear every monster along the way. If your build is strong enough, moving toward the next objective is generally more efficient than completely clearing every room.
The Ancients are an important part of the route.
Defeat Madawc, Korlic, and Talic, then collect their rewards before continuing toward Worldstone Keep.
Fast area damage is particularly useful here because you can reduce the amount of time spent on this encounter without building an entirely different setup.
Once the Ancients are defeated, continue through the Keep.
Do not treat the dungeon like a traditional full-clear activity. If normal enemies are not blocking your progress, you can move past them and focus on objectives and required encounters.
This is where movement speed and mobility become important.
Near the end of the route, you will encounter Baal's forces before entering the final area.
Clear the required enemies and continue through the portal when it becomes available.
The final encounter is against the Echo of Baal.
After the fight, collect your rewards and leave the dungeon rather than spending unnecessary time returning to town.
If your objective is repeated farming, reducing downtime between runs is just as important as reducing the combat time inside the dungeon.
Worldstone Keep vs. Other Prime Evil Routes
Baal is not the only Prime Evil available in Season 15.
The other major routes are:
Worldstone Keep — Echo of Baal
Durance of Hate — Echo of Mephisto
The Labyrinth — Echo of Diablo
Their higher-tier versions are part of the season's Capstone content, with the Hell versions associated with Torment XII. The three routes are not identical, and their layouts differ considerably. Worldstone Keep follows the Diablo II Act V journey, while Durance of Hate recreates the end of Act III and The Labyrinth recreates a large portion of the original Diablo.
For that reason, it is better to choose your route based on actual clear speed rather than assuming every player should use exactly the same dungeon.
If your character clears Worldstone Keep significantly faster than the alternatives, Baal becomes a natural farming choice.
What About Lair Bosses?
Lair Bosses remain an important part of a Season 15 Mythic farming strategy.
Patch 3.2.1 specifically increased the Mythic Unique drop rate from Greater Lair Bosses and raised Initiate Lair Bosses to the same Mythic Unique drop rate. The patch also slightly increased the Mythic Unique drop rate from Belial.
This makes Lair Boss materials valuable rather than something you should simply ignore while farming Waking Nightmares.
Belial is particularly useful when you want to target a specific Unique pool. His Hoard allows you to select another boss's Diablo 4 Items pool, while Mythic Uniques selected from Belial's Hoard follow the corresponding boss pool rules.
A practical rotation is therefore:
Baal runs → save Lair materials → run Belial or another Lair Boss → return to Baal
You do not have to follow this exact order every session. The idea is to use key-free content while your boss materials are limited, then spend those materials when you have enough for a focused boss session.
Kurast Undercity and Mythic Tributes
Kurast Undercity can also be included in a broader farming rotation.
Mythic Tributes are designed to make Undercity useful for targeted endgame farming. If you already have the required Tribute, running Undercity can provide a different type of reward-focused activity instead of repeating the same Baal route indefinitely.
The best choice depends on what your character currently needs.
If you are specifically hunting Mythic Uniques and already have the appropriate boss materials, Lair Bosses can be more relevant. If you need a combination of gear, D4 materials, and other progression rewards, Undercity can be worth inserting into the rotation.
The biggest mistake is focusing only on damage.
Once your character already kills the required enemies quickly, movement and downtime become much more important.
Teleport, Evade-based mobility, movement-speed bonuses, and other movement tools can make a noticeable difference during repeated runs.
A slightly lower-damage build that reaches Baal quickly can outperform a stronger build that spends much longer traveling.
You do not need to kill everything.
Focus on the Ancients, required encounters, Baal's waves, and the final boss. If a group of enemies is not preventing you from progressing, moving past them can save time.
After collecting the important rewards, leave the dungeon and start the next run.
Over a long farming session, saving 20 or 30 seconds between runs can add up to a significant amount of extra attempts.
Higher Torment difficulties generally provide better rewards, but only if your clear speed remains reasonable.
There is little value in moving to a higher difficulty if the additional time required makes each run substantially slower.
For most farming sessions, the practical goal is not simply the highest Torment number. It is the highest difficulty you can clear efficiently.
A Practical Season 15 Mythic Farming Rotation
A simple farming routine can look like this:
Step 1: Worldstone Keep
Use Baal runs as your repeatable activity while accumulating loot, gems, Runes, and other rewards.
Step 2: Lair Bosses
When you have enough Lair materials, switch to the appropriate boss for more targeted Unique and Mythic opportunities.
Step 3: Belial
Use Belial when his Hoard selection is useful for the Unique pool you are targeting.
Step 4: Undercity
Spend Mythic Tributes when you want to use a more targeted Undercity run.
Step 5: Return to Baal
Once your boss materials or Tributes are used, return to Worldstone Keep and continue the repeatable farming loop.
This approach avoids relying on one activity for everything.
Do You Need Torment XII?
Not necessarily.
Your actual farming speed matters more than simply reaching the highest available Torment.
Worldstone Keep has multiple versions. The Nightmare version is available earlier in progression, while the Hell version is a much higher-end challenge associated with Torment XII.
If your character can clear a higher version quickly, there is a stronger reason to farm there. If the difficulty increase makes your runs significantly slower, staying at a lower level can be more efficient for the session.
The same principle applies to Lair Bosses and Undercity.
Season 15 has brought back the feeling of classic Diablo boss runs while giving players several modern farming options.
Worldstone Keep is particularly appealing because the Baal route is repeatable and combines the Ancients, the classic Worldstone Keep journey, and the Echo of Baal in one activity. It also provides additional loot and gem rewards along the way.
However, the most efficient Mythic farming setup is not simply "run Baal forever."
A better approach is to use Worldstone Keep as a repeatable farming route, then spend Lair Keys and boss materials when they are available and use Mythic Tributes in Kurast Undercity when targeted farming makes sense.
For Season 15, the basic strategy is straightforward:
Farm Baal when you want repeatable runs. Spend boss materials when you have them. Use Belial for targeted loot pools. Add Mythic Tributes when Undercity fits your current goal.
That gives you several ways to keep working toward Mythic Uniques without relying on a single endgame activity.
