The Diablo 4 Season 14 PTR has officially come to an end, giving players a clearer look at the current endgame landscape before the new season launches.
Throughout the testing period, players explored class balance changes, item adjustments, Horadric Cube mechanics, and high-tier Pit progression. While additional balance updates may still arrive before Season 14 goes live, the final PTR results provide valuable insight into which classes and builds currently appear strongest.
Rogue was one of the most impressive classes throughout the PTR. Poison-focused builds consistently achieved some of the highest Pit clears recorded during testing, combining excellent mobility with strong damage scaling.
The class benefits from powerful crowd-control tools, flexible positioning options, and reliable single-target damage against bosses. As Pit difficulty increases, Rogue's ability to maintain damage while avoiding dangerous mechanics becomes even more valuable.
Strengths
Exceptional mobility
Strong damage-over-time scaling
Reliable boss damage
Excellent performance in high-tier Pit content
Based on current testing results, Rogue appears to be one of the strongest choices for players planning to focus on endgame Pit progression early in Season 14.
Despite several balance adjustments over recent seasons, Barbarian remained a top-tier performer during PTR testing.
Many players found success with Ancients-focused builds that emphasized survivability, sustained damage, and efficient cooldown management. Rather than relying on extreme burst damage, Barbarian excelled through consistency and durability.
The class continued to demonstrate strong performance in difficult content while offering a forgiving playstyle for players pushing higher Pit tiers.
Strengths
Outstanding durability
Consistent damage output
Strong boss encounters
Reliable progression in challenging content
Barbarian may no longer dominate every leaderboard, but it remains one of the safest and most dependable classes heading into Season 14.
Druid showed noticeable improvement throughout the PTR, benefiting from itemization changes and stronger support for Storm-based builds.
Storm Shred variants delivered solid results in both farming and endgame progression. While they generally did not reach the same peak clears as Rogue, they offered a balanced combination of damage, mobility, and survivability.
Strengths
Strong area-of-effect damage
Good mobility
Smooth progression through endgame content
Versatile gameplay options
Druid currently looks like a strong all-around choice for players seeking a balanced Season 14 experience.
Necromancer
Necromancer maintained a competitive position during testing thanks to its reliable damage output and flexible build options.
While it did not dominate the highest Pit tiers, the class remained capable of handling difficult content with proper Diablo 4 gear investment and optimization.
Strengths
Consistent damage
Multiple viable build paths
Strong resource management
Effective boss encounters
Necromancer may not be the headline performer of the PTR, but it remains a solid option for players who enjoy a strategic and methodical playstyle.
Sorcerer remained capable of clearing difficult content but generally struggled to keep pace with the strongest PTR performers.
Several defensive adjustments made high-tier progression more challenging, especially as enemy damage increased in the upper Pit levels. Although the class still offers strong elemental damage and fast clearing potential, survivability remains an area of concern.
Strengths
Fast farming speed
Strong elemental damage
Flexible build variety
Challenges
Lower survivability in very high Pit tiers
Greater reliance on positioning and execution
Sorcerer remains playable and rewarding, but currently appears more demanding than some of the higher-ranked alternatives.
Based on the final phase of PTR testing, the current class outlook appears to be:
S-Tier
Rogue
Barbarian
A-Tier
Druid
Necromancer
B-Tier
Sorcerer
It is important to remember that PTR results represent a testing environment rather than the final live version of the game. Blizzard may still introduce balance adjustments, bug fixes, or D4 items change before Season 14 officially launches.
As always, the live version of Season 14 may look different once final balance changes arrive. So which class are you planning to play in Season 14?
