In Call of Duty Black Ops 7 Reloaded 2.0, the weapon balance patch has completely reshaped the multiplayer meta. Once-dominant weapons have been toned down, but one rifle has quietly risen to the top: the AN-94.
Thanks to its unique burst-style firing behavior and extremely consistent mid-to-long range performance, the AN-94 has become a defining weapon for 2v2, 3v3, and Ranked Play.
If you’ve been struggling in gunfights, the issue may not be your aim. It may simply be that you are not using the right build.
The first two bullets fired from the AN-94 come out at an extremely high rate of fire and are almost perfectly stacked on the same recoil path. This creates a powerful opening burst that can eliminate enemies before they react.
In Reloaded 2.0, improvements to recoil recovery and damage consistency have made this mechanic even stronger in competitive maps such as Zenith and Launch.
Faster engagements reward burst damage over sustained fire
Smaller maps reward precision opening shots
Ranked play favors consistency over high recoil weapons
The AN-94 rewards discipline and punishes hesitation.
This build focuses on two goals:
Maximize opening burst stability
Maintain mobility for aggressive ranked play
Recommended attachments:
Muzzle: Compensator
Underbarrel: Precision Foregrip
This setup keeps the first shots extremely stable. Since the AN-94’s power is front-loaded, this directly increases its kill potential in the opening burst.
Recommended attachments:
Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
Stock: Lightweight Stock
Ranked matches and small team modes are very fast-paced. Without mobility tuning, even a stable weapon becomes hard to use effectively. This setup improves ADS speed, sprint-to-fire time, and movement control.
Full Meta Loadout
Muzzle: Compensator
Barrel: Heavy Barrel (range increase)
Underbarrel: Patrol Grip (horizontal control)
Rear Grip: Quick Grip (ADS speed)
Magazine: 45 Round Extended Mag
This is currently one of the most consistent competitive loadouts in Ranked and 2v2/3v3 playlists.
The AN-94 is not designed for holding the trigger. Use:
Short bursts of 3 to 4 bullets
Reset between engagements
Let Hyperburst handle the opening damage
Over-spraying removes its core advantage.
The AN-94 performs best at mid-range where its opening burst is most consistent.
Best situations:
Long sightlines on Zenith
Mid control on Launch
Head-glitch fights in objective modes
Avoid constant close-range rushing unless your movement is strong.
Pre-aim and positioning matter more than reaction time
Because this weapon rewards first-shot accuracy, positioning is critical.
Pre-aim common angles
Hold off-angles instead of wide swings
Force enemies into your crosshair
The AN-94 in Reloaded 2.0 is not just strong, it is consistent. In a meta where many weapons rely on recoil control or randomness, this rifle rewards discipline and clean fundamentals. It also performs exceptionally well in high-pressure Ranked Play scenarios and even in CoD BO7 Bot Lobby environments where players test loadouts and refine mechanics.
If mastered correctly, it can outperform more popular high-tier weapons in Ranked Play.
With ongoing events such as Summer of Action and limited-time rewards like the Nick Cage Event Pass, this is one of the best times to grind Ranked and refine your gameplay. The meta has shifted, and the AN-94 is now at the center of it.
