Season 03 Reloaded in Black Ops 7 introduces Act II: Operation Broken Mirror, pushing PvE gameplay into true Nightmare difficulty. At the heart of this update is the Mega Abomination, a high-tier raid boss guarding the Exotic Weapon Case containing meta-defining weapons like the Pulsebreach marksman rifle and Reboot sidearm.

To consistently clear this encounter, squads need optimized builds, tight role separation, and disciplined execution across all three phases of the fight. Honestly, if your team is uncoordinated, this boss will punish you hard.

Pyro / Crowd ControlThermal SpikeConductive ShotClears adds, applies AoE damage, disrupts armor regeneration

This composition ensures constant damage uptime while preventing wipes during elite add waves. Stick to these roles and don’t randomly switch mid-fight unless you want chaos.

Loadout Optimization

Standard multiplayer setups will fail in Nightmare difficulty. Players must prioritize sustained DPS and armor penetration.

Primary weapons should focus on high-capacity LMGs like the XMG or fast-firing shotguns. In a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby setup, attachments such as Incendiary or Shrapnel rounds are essential for breaking armor layers efficiently.

For equipment:

Tactical: Stim Shots for emergency healing and repositioning
Lethal: Thermite or Semtex for exposing weak points and burst damage windows

Weapon choice is less about raw damage and more about consistency across long boss phases.

Phase 1: Armor Break and Weak Point Targeting

The Mega Abomination begins the fight shielded by crystalline armor plating. Direct body shots are inefficient and waste ammunition.

Instead, identify its glowing weak points located on joint segments and central carapace structures. The Pyro player should immediately deploy Thermal Spike beneath the boss to apply constant damage over time.

Team coordination is critical here: all players must focus fire on a single weak point until it shatters. Each break significantly reduces boss health and opens a brief DPS window.

Phase 2: Elite Add Control

After each weak point is destroyed, the boss triggers a lockdown and summons elite enemy waves.

During this phase, survival takes priority over damage:

Deploy Wingman Drones to redirect enemy aggro
Use Conductive Shot to chain-stun clustered enemies
Rotate armor plates and collect ammo drops during downtime

Failing to control adds will quickly overwhelm the team and reset progress.

Phase 3: Enrage and Final Burn

At 30% health, the Mega Abomination enters its enraged state. Movement becomes unpredictable, and it begins charging across the arena while leaving damaging corruption trails.

At this stage, standing still is lethal. Players must continuously rotate along the outer perimeter, using sliding and sprint mechanics to avoid damage zones. This is usually where most squads start panicking, so keep it clean.

This is the final DPS window. All remaining Thermite, Semtex, and Thermal Spike abilities should be stacked for maximum burst damage while maintaining constant movement.

Upon defeat, the Mega Abomination drops the Exotic Weapon Case in the center of the arena. Immediate pickup is essential before heading to extraction.

With proper coordination, this encounter becomes a repeatable high-value farm rather than a hard wall. Mastering positioning, role synergy, and phase control will turn the Mega Abomination into one of the most efficient endgame loot sources in Black Ops 7.
