WoW Forever goes live worldwide on November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PST. Launch night gold is not a tip jar for every vendor flash — it is a short budget that has to cover class training, repairs, early bags, and the first Auction House clicks before materials spike. Bank a working pile of WoW Forever Gold for those four lines first; everything else waits until the character can move without vendoring quest greens for taxi fare.
Global servers open together at 3:00 p.m. PST on November 4 — one moment worldwide, not staggered realms by region. The first hour is crowded: quest hubs stall, Auction House postings are thin, and trainer ranks stack faster than most players expect. Treat gold as a queue of bills, not a scoreboard.
Four bills hit every fresh character:
1. Class trainer ranks as new abilities unlock.
2. Repair silver after deaths and dungeon wipes.
3. Bag slots so quest items and cloth stop forcing vendor trips.
4. One or two Auction House fills (empty Waylaid Crates, missing reagents, or a weapon that clearly outpaces the quest stick).
Spend past those four only when the character still has a cash buffer for the next trainer visit. Impulse greens on the Auction House on night one are the usual way a leveling route goes broke before level 20.

Every starting zone still pays a free 6-slot bag from a low-level quest, usually by level 7. Grab that quest on the first pass — the bags bind on pickup, so each new character needs its own. Colored 6-slot pouches also drop from early named mobs and do not bind, which makes extras useful for alts or a quick Auction House list once postage is online.
Alliance characters can add Old Blanchy’s Feed Pouch (8 slots) from the Westfall Poor Old Blanchy quest once they reach the farm oats loop. Horde characters later pick up the 12-slot Spidersilk Pouch from Stronger than Steel on Skywatcher Plateau around the mid-20s. Wailing Caverns still awards the 10-slot Deviate Hide Pack for 20 Deviate Hides, with Lady Anacondra holding a chance at the bind-on-pickup Snakeskin Bag.
Tailoring bag recipes in Forever craft two bags per craft, which cuts the cloth burn for alts once a tailor is online. Until then, buy only the slot that removes a vendor trip — a second 6-slot bag that stops you deleting quest items is worth more on night one than a speculative Auction House flip.

Deaths and dungeon wipes drain silver quietly. Repair before you leave a hub if durability is already yellow; waiting until a piece breaks mid-pull costs a run and another repair. Class trainers charge for each new rank — budget the next two ranks you know are coming instead of emptying the bag on a cosmetic cloak with a level requirement you will outgrow in an hour.
Mount and riding costs arrive later, but the gold for them has to be saved while you are still in the teens and twenties. Characters who spend every copper on temporary weapons hit the riding vendor empty. Park a separate “later” stack in the bank or on an alt bank character if your bags are already full of cloth.

Launch-night Auction House stock is thin and noisy. The first listing you see for linen, copper, or a green weapon is rarely the settled price — compare stack sizes, look for duplicate posts from the same hour, and buy only what clears a bag, trainer, or crate goal. Listing every scrap the moment you loot it can flood a baby market; hold a portion, vendor the true junk, and post materials players actually need for early professions.
Empty Waylaid Crates trade on the Auction House after level 10. Filling one bundle and walking it to your faction camp pays Merchant’s Favor for recipes trainers never teach — the same camp loop covered in U4GM’s Merchant’s Favor crate walkthrough. Price the crate plus the cheapest accepted bundle before you buy; a “cheap” empty crate that demands scarce ore can cost more Favor per silver than a pricier green crate with an easy craft fill.
When the Auction House mail delay or missing suffix stats bug shows up on a listing, do not force a buyout you cannot inspect. Wait for the listing to refresh or buy the same item from a vendor if the upgrade is only marginal. Cross-faction Auction House behavior follows Forever’s live trading rules — if a post does not appear for your faction, it is not a pricing error you can click through.
| Launch bill | When it hits | What to spend | Hold until later |
|---|---|---|---|
| Class trainer ranks | Each new ability tier | Next 1–2 ranks you will use on the route | Optional ranks you will replace in an hour |
| Repairs | After deaths / wipes | Full repair at hub before the next pull | Ignoring yellow durability into a dungeon |
| Bags | Levels 1–20 | Starting quest bag + one pouch that stops vendoring quest items | Max-size crafted bags before cloth prices settle |
| Auction House | After postage / level 10 crates | One crate or reagent that unlocks Favor / profession progress | Every green weapon flash on thin listings |
Quest rewards and vendor trash remain the baseline income while you level. Gather nodes you already pass — copper, linen, light leather — instead of parking the character on a pure gold route that stalls experience. Profession choices that feed the Auction House (gathering) or cut your own consumable spend (crafting you will actually use) both protect the same wallet that later needs World of Warcraft Forever Gold for riding, certifications, and mid-tier recipes.
Do not dump the entire balance into materials “because launch.” Keep three piles in practice: spendable silver for trainers and repairs, bag money for the next slot, and a held stack for riding or a planned Favor recipe. If a temporary weapon costs more than two upcoming trainer ranks combined, leave it on the Auction House for someone else.
1. Skipping the starting-zone bag quest and paying Auction House prices for a 6-slot you could have quested.
2. Repairing only after a piece breaks inside a dungeon pull.
3. Buying the first linen or copper post without checking duplicate listings from the same hour.
4. Filling every alternative line on a Waylaid Crate tooltip instead of the single cheapest complete bundle.
5. Spending the riding reserve on a green that a quest reward will replace before level 20.
6. Listing bind-on-pickup quest bags or assuming Treasure-style account rewards behave like trade goods — they do not.
When servers open November 4 at 3:00 p.m. PST, the free starting-zone bag and one hub repair protect more silver than any thin Auction House green. Train the ranks you will press on the next quest cluster; buy one crate or reagent on the Auction House only if that purchase clears Merchant’s Favor or a profession gate.
