Just got MLB The Show 26 through PlayStation Plus and have no idea where to start?

Diamond Dynasty can feel overwhelming when you first jump in. There are Programs, XP, PXP, MLB The Show 26 Stubs, packs, collections, Conquest, Mini Seasons and online modes everywhere. If you start spending Stubs or opening rewards without a plan, it is easy to waste resources.

Luckily, the Jump Start Bundle gives new PS Plus players a useful head start. The bundle includes five The Show Packs, a Jumpstart Choice Pack and an Equipment Pack, giving you some free cards and resources to begin building your team.

Here is the easiest way to make those rewards count.

Start With Your Free Packs

Claim the Jump Start Bundle before doing anything else.

Open the five The Show Packs and check what you pulled. Do not immediately spend your Stubs trying to upgrade the lineup. Your free packs may already give you useful players, and you want to see where your actual weaknesses are before shopping.

The Jumpstart Choice Pack deserves a little more thought.

Instead of automatically picking the highest-OVR player, look at your lineup first. If your catcher is weak, take a catcher. If your outfield needs help, take an outfielder. A balanced roster will help you much more than putting one great card into an otherwise weak lineup.

Also look at the player's attributes and playstyle. Contact, power, speed and defense can matter just as much as Overall, especially when you are still learning the game.

If one of the Choice Pack players can also help with a Program mission, that is an even better reason to take them.

The Equipment Pack is more useful if you plan to play Road to the Show, so there is no need to rush through those items if Diamond Dynasty is your main focus.

Build Your Team With Free Rewards

Once the Jump Start rewards are handled, focus on Programs before spending Stubs.

This is where new players can make the biggest mistake. You do not need to buy an expensive team immediately. Play through the available starter and player Programs and collect the free rewards first.

Try to combine objectives whenever possible.

If a Program requires certain hits, strikeouts or other statistics, complete those missions while playing another mode instead of grinding every objective separately. You will progress much faster this way.

Conquest is one of the best places to start. It lets you play against the CPU while working toward rewards and learning the game's hitting, pitching and fielding systems. It is also much less stressful than jumping straight into Ranked.

Mini Seasons is another good option when you want a more structured offline grind. Switching between Conquest and Mini Seasons can keep things fresh while continuing to earn rewards and make progress.

Save Your Stubs

Your early Stubs are more valuable than they look.

Before buying a player, check whether you can earn something similar through a Program or offline activity. There is little reason to spend thousands of Stubs on a position that you can upgrade for free.

Selling unnecessary tradable duplicates can also give you extra Stubs. Just be careful with cards you may need for collections or future objectives.

When you finally start buying players, fix your weakest positions first. Do not spend your entire budget on one superstar while leaving the rest of your lineup weak.

Build a Balanced Lineup

You do not need a team full of elite cards to start playing Diamond Dynasty.

At catcher and shortstop, reliable defense can make a big difference. In the outfield, look for a combination of hitting, speed and fielding. For your rotation, focus on pitchers with pitch mixes and control that you are comfortable using rather than simply chasing the highest OVR.

And don't forget the bullpen. A few dependable relievers can save plenty of games while you are building your roster.

Once your team feels comfortable, start trying Events or Ranked. There is no reason to rush into competitive modes before you understand the basic controls.

The Simple PS Plus Route

If you want the shortest possible plan, just remember:

Claim the Jump Start Bundle → open your free packs → choose a player that fills a real lineup weakness → complete Programs → play Conquest and Mini Seasons → save your Stubs → upgrade weak positions → then move into online play.

The PS Plus version gives new players a great starting point. You do not need to build a perfect Diamond Dynasty roster on day one.

Use the free rewards first, protect your Stubs and let your team improve naturally.
