How to Choose the Right Monopoly GO Dice Multiplier

In Monopoly GO, choosing the right dice multiplier can make a huge difference in how quickly you burn through your dice and how efficiently you progress through events. There is no single multiplier that is always “the best.” The right choice depends on your dice balance, your position on the board, and what event you are currently playing.

One important thing to understand first is that a higher multiplier does not make a particular dice result more likely. Scopely says Monopoly GO uses a pseudorandom number generator, with each roll independently generated. In other words, switching from x10 to x100 does not improve your odds of rolling a specific number; it simply increases the amount of dice and event progress associated with that roll.

The Safe and Flexible Option: x1

The x1 multiplier is useful when you are trying to control your dice spending or position yourself for a better roll. For example, if you are several spaces away from a Railroad or another important event tile, using x1 lets you move around the board without burning through your dice too quickly. It is also a good choice when your dice balance is getting low.

A Good Everyday Range: x2–x5

For normal gameplay, x2 to x5 is a comfortable range. You get more event progress per successful roll without consuming dice as aggressively as the really high multipliers. This range works well when you are simply moving around the board, collecting money, completing small objectives, or gradually building progress toward an event milestone.

If you are not sure what multiplier to use, starting around x3 or x5 is a reasonable approach. Earlier strategy guides have also recommended x3 for ordinary rolls because it provides a balance between progression and dice consumption.

The Popular Middle Ground: x10

x10 is probably the easiest multiplier to recommend for regular event play. It is especially useful when you are close enough to potentially hit valuable spaces but do not want to commit a huge number of dice to every roll.

Time to Push: x20–x50

Once you have a larger dice reserve and are actively trying to complete an event, x20 or x50 can become more attractive. For example, if you are only a few milestones away from an important reward, increasing your multiplier can help you progress much faster.

High Risk & High Consumption: x100 and High Roller

The x100 multiplier is designed for players who are prepared to spend dice aggressively. It can be useful when you have a large dice reserve and are specifically trying to finish an event or tournament quickly.

During High Roller, even larger multipliers can become available. Older guides documented x1000 as an option during High Roller, making these short windows particularly important for players who have saved a large dice balance. But don't assume that x100 or x1000 automatically means better results. You can still miss the tiles you want. A high multiplier simply means that each roll carries a much larger dice cost.

There isn't one multiplier that's perfect for every Monopoly GO  situation. You don't have to choose one multiplier and keep it for the entire session. A smarter approach is to change your multiplier depending on what's happening.

Most importantly, remember that multipliers don't change the underlying dice odds. They change how much you spend and how much progress you receive from each roll. So, before you hit that big multiplier button, take a quick look at your dice balance, board position, active event, remaining milestones, and High Roller availability. That five-second check can make your dice last much longer.
