Monopoly GO appears to be experimenting with a new feature called “Pass It On,” giving players another way to contribute points during limited-time partner and cooperative events.

The mechanic introduces an interesting choice when players receive points from certain event spins. Instead of automatically adding those points to their own progress, players may be given the option to either keep the rewards or send them to their partner.

How Pass It On Works in Monopoly GO?

Monopoly GO Pass It On

During eligible partner or co-op events, players may encounter a special Pass It On trigger while spinning or participating in event activities. When the feature appears, players can choose between two options.

Selecting Use allows the player to keep the points and apply them directly toward their own event progress, following the normal reward system.

Choosing Pass, however, sends the points to the player's partner instead. The transferred amount can receive a random multiplier, potentially turning the original reward into a significantly larger bonus for the teammate.

The mechanic therefore adds an element of strategy to partner events. Players must decide whether keeping a reward is more valuable or whether passing it could provide a greater benefit to their teammate.

There is an additional condition attached to the system. Points sent through Pass It On do not appear to be immediately usable by the receiving player.

Instead, the partner needs to encounter the Pass It On mechanic on their own board before they can claim or make use of the accumulated reward. This creates a shared progression system in which both players have an incentive to participate actively in the event.

The random multiplier also makes the mechanic somewhat unpredictable. A relatively small number of points could potentially become a much more substantial reward after being passed.

A Possible Alternative to Partner Gifts

The feature has reportedly been seen by only certain groups of players, suggesting that Scopely may be testing the system before deciding whether to introduce it more broadly.

It may also serve as an alternative — or temporary replacement — for some of the traditional Partner Gift mechanics used in previous events.

Because the feature appears to be in a testing or limited-rollout phase, its final rules could change before a wider release. Availability, point multipliers, and the conditions required to claim transferred rewards may all be adjusted during future tests.

If Scopely eventually expands the mechanic to more players, Pass It On could add a new layer of cooperation to partner events. Rather than simply collecting points for individual progress, players may have to coordinate with their teammates and decide when passing a reward is worth the risk.
