Palworld 1.0 Best Base Locations Guide

Finding the right base location is one of the most important decisions in Palworld 1.0. A good base can save hours of manual farming, while a poorly placed one can leave you constantly traveling for Ore, Coal, Quartz, or other materials.

With the 1.0 update, players have more options for building and managing bases, including new resource systems and additional construction possibilities. Instead of looking for one location that does everything, the most efficient approach is to combine a strong main base with specialized Mining and resource bases.

What Makes a Good Base Location?

The best base is not necessarily the location with the most resource nodes. You should also consider how easy the area is to defend and how much space you have for production buildings.

The most important factors are:

  • Resource density: More nodes and multiple resource types mean less travel.
  • Building space: Flat ground makes automated production much easier.
  • Defense: High ground and narrow entrances can help against Raids.
  • Fast Travel: Nearby Fast Travel points make resource runs more convenient.
  • Climate: Mount Obsidian and the Astral Mountains require appropriate heat or cold protection.
  • Base specialization: Your main base does not need to produce everything.

For most players, a main production base plus specialized resource bases is more efficient than trying to build one giant base.

Best Early and Mid-Game Base Locations

If you are still progressing through the early game, convenience matters more than finding a perfect endgame location.

The Plateau of Beginnings, around 230–247, -486 to -500, is a safe starting option with Wood, Stone, Paldium, and some Ore. It is close to the starting area and gives new players plenty of room to establish basic production.

For early Ore farming, Ore Galore at around 156, -396 offers roughly seven Ore nodes. The Desolate Church area around 70, -405 is another practical option because it combines Ore access with convenient Fast Travel.

Once you reach the mid game, however, it is worth upgrading to a more resource-dense location.

Best Mining and Multi-Resource Base

For a long-term base, the Ore + Coal mountain around 180, -39 or 188, -37 is one of the strongest choices.

The area contains approximately eight Ore nodes and six Coal nodes, giving you two important resources in one location. The elevated terrain is also useful for defense, while the resource density makes it ideal for Mining Pals.

Another excellent option is the Mount Flopie area around 29, -50. It provides access to Ore, Sulfur, and Quartz, with Coal available nearby. This makes it particularly useful for players who want one base to cover several resource requirements.

The area around 259, -225 near Verdant Brook is also worth considering if Ore is your main priority.

Best Specialized Resource Bases

As you progress, specialized bases become more valuable because some resources are difficult to collect efficiently elsewhere.

The western side of Mount Obsidian, around -744, -442 or -743, -449, is a strong Sulfur location with roughly seven nodes. Just remember that the area requires heat protection.

For Pure Quartz, head toward the Astral Mountains, around -212, 250 or -202, 253. The area has a dense concentration of Quartz and is an excellent choice for automated late-game production.

Crude Oil should become a major priority later. The Sakurajima Oil Fields around -646, 270 or -645, 272 provide multiple Oil nodes and enough open space for a dedicated production base.

Best Endgame Base Locations

For endgame players, Sunreach provides several strong options. The area around 583, 144 is useful for Soralite production and offers enough space for a large base.

If you prefer scenery and building freedom, Crystal Pool Paradise around -540, -1361 is another interesting choice, especially with its shallow-water construction possibilities.

For Hexolite production, Feybreak locations around -1202, -1496 and -1340, -1285 are better suited to established endgame players.

The Best Base Setup for Most Players

You do not need every location listed above. A simple three- or four-base setup is usually enough.

Start with the Ore + Coal mountain around 180, -39 as your main production base. Add a dedicated Sulfur or Pure Quartz base when those resources become important, then establish the Sakurajima Oil base for late-game production. Finally, move toward Sunreach or Feybreak when you need endgame materials.

The Quarry system can reduce your dependence on natural resource nodes later, but strong Mining locations remain valuable because they can provide large amounts of resources with relatively little manual work.

The key is to build around your current progression rather than chasing a perfect location too early. Use your main base for everyday production, specialized bases for difficult resources, and Mining and Transport Palworld Pals to keep everything running automatically.
