Alterac Valley Battleground Reputation Guide For WoW Classic

Alterac Valley (AV) is a massive 40 vs 40 PvP battleground in WoW Classic where the Horde and Alliance fight for control of a large territory. Within Alterac Valley, players can gain reputation with the Frostwolf Clan (Horde) or the Stormpike Guard (Alliance). Gaining reputation unlocks access to unique rewards, including gear that rivals or surpasses items from Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair.

Gaining Reputation

There are multiple ways to gain reputation in Alterac Valley:

Quests: Completing quests within AV grants reputation. Some quests are repeatable and involve collecting reagents.

• Hero of the Frostwolf awards 10 reputation.
• The Battle for Alterac awards 200 reputation.
• The Legend of Korrak awards 200 reputation.
• The Graveyards of Alterac awards 100 reputation.
• Towers and Bunkers awards 100 reputation.
• Capture a Mine awards 100 reputation.

Repeatable quests: Several repeatable quests can be turned in at Frostwolf Keep.

• Alterac Ram Hide grants 2 reputation per item.
• Bringing a Frostwolf to Frostwolf Keep awards 1 reputation per wolf.
• Armor Scraps grant 1 reputation per 20 items.
• Stormpike Soldier’s Blood grants 1 reputation per item.

Call of Air Quests: Turn in the following to Wing Commander Guse, Jeztor, and Mulverick respectively.

• Stormpike Soldier’s Flesh grants 1 reputation per item.
• Stormpike Lieutenant’s Flesh grants 2 reputation per item.
• Stormpike Commander’s Flesh grants 5 reputation per item.

Killing Enemies: Defeating enemy players and NPCs within Alterac Valley provides reputation.

• Killing Vanndar Stormpike (Alliance General) grants 389 reputation.
• Killing Captain Balinda Stonehearth (Alliance Captain) grants 125 reputation.
• Killing Ivus the Forest Lord grants 125 reputation.
• Killing Alliance Commanders grants 12 reputation each.
• Killing Alliance Air Masters grants 5 reputation each.
• Killing Alliance Guards grants 5 reputation each (until Honored).
• Killing Alliance Players grants 1 reputation each.

Finishing Battleground: Completing objectives and winning the battleground awards reputation.

• Killing the Alliance General awards 36 reputation.
• Keeping the Horde Captain alive awards 125 reputation.
• Destroying enemy bunkers awards 24 reputation each.
• Killing enemy commanders awards 12 reputation each.
• Controlling or keeping towers intact awards 12 reputation each.
• Controlling graveyards awards 12 reputation each.
• Controlling mines awards 12 reputation each.

Marks of Honor: Winning Alterac Valley grants 3 Alterac Valley Marks of Honor, while losing grants 1. Turning in three Marks of Honor grants 50 reputation.

Strategy

The fastest way to gain reputation is to win the battle, destroy towers, capture graveyards, and kill enemy lieutenants and commanders. Focus on assaulting towers, bunkers, and offensive graveyards, followed by taking down the enemy faction boss. A small team of defenders, preferably stealth classes, should focus on retaking important map objectives.

Reputation Rewards

As you increase your reputation with your faction, you will gain access to rewards from faction vendors. These rewards include rare belts and necklaces at Honored, special battle standards at Revered, and epic rings and a unique epic mount at Exalted. Reaching Exalted also grants a special Alterac Insignia, which increases in power with each reputation rank. Some of the gear available at Exalted is considered better than gear from Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair.
