Although there have been plenty of raids in Destiny 2's past, the one for The Final Shape isn't just any ordinary raid. This highly anticipated event is set to bring forth the finale of the franchise's 10-year-long saga. In this guide, we will show you everything you need to know about this new version!

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Release Date

Originally, The Final Shape expansion was supposed to launch back in February, but delays kept that from happening. The Final Shape raid will launch on June 7. The initial launch of The Final Shape expansion is scheduled for June 4, giving players a little bit of extra time to get ready before the raid begins three days later. The Final Shape will bring some exciting changes to Destiny 2, and players won't have to wait much longer.

Destiny 2: The Final Shape Platforms

Destiny 2: The Final Shape will be playable on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store). However, don't expect to see The Final Shape popping up on PC or Xbox Game Pass. While Bungie retains a level of independence under Sony, it's highly unlikely that any Destiny 2 expansions will come to Game Pass due to this partnership.

It's taking place in a new, "linear" destination called the Pale Heart, which will then open more after the campaign. This location is influenced by its visitors, so you'll start in a recreation of the Destiny 1 Tower but will journey into more horrific regions tainted by the Witness.

Along the way, you'll face a new enemy unit known as the Subjugators, who specialize in using Stasis and Strand powers. However, when it comes to fighting the Witness itself, you'll be doing that in a new Raid, not the campaign.

A new Super ability is also coming for each Class. Void Titans will be getting Twilight Arsenal, Arc Hunters are getting Storm’s Edge, and Solar Warlocks will get Song of Flame. Other systems and features are in store in The Final Shape, but the development team is keeping them secret for now.

Is Destiny 2: The Final Shape The End?

Destiny 2 The Final Shape

Some gamers are worried that The Final Shape is the end of Destiny 2 content since it will conclude the Light and Darkness storyline. But developers have confirmed: The story will continue. But things will change. Since 2019, Destiny 2 has had seasonal updates. After The Final Shape, however, Destiny 2 will switch to Episodes. Bungie hasn’t shared what the new content and storyline will be after The Final Shape.
