As the launch date for NBA 2K20 gets closer, 2K Sports have decided to give fans a little head start by dropping a free-to-play demo two weeks before the game's release. The news was revealed via an NBA 2K Facebook post-Thursday morning. Here is everything you need to know about the demo.

NBA 2K20 Demo Will Be Released For Free On August 21 On PlayStation 4, Xbox One And Nintendo Switch

1. Date: August 21 at 12:01 am PT
Those interested in getting a taste of the experience before the game's release can grab a free demo on August 21st.

2. Features Available: Fans will be allowed to get an early start on their MyCareer journey.
That should give many people the early jump they need on this popular aspect of the game. NBA 2K20 will feature a new MyCareer builder, and the demo is designed to allow fans to experiment with different builds. There is no indication on the number of builds fans will be able to try, but we do know that you will be able to carry over your creation into the full version. Once NBA 2K20 then formally launches, you'll be able to then carry over this progress to the full title.

3. Platforms: The NBA 2K20 Demo will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
The only platform it won't be available on is PC. While this might be a bummer for those on PC, the full game won't be out too much later, so hopefully, it won't prove to be too big of a problem.

4. How to Get Access: The Demo will be free to download for users with an internet connection who owns the aforementioned consoles.
Starting on August 21 at 12:01 a.m. PDT, you can get an early start on your MyCAREER while testing out the new MyPLAYER builder and hitting the court two weeks ahead of the game's launch by downloading the NBA 2K20 Demo.

5. NBA 2K20 is set to arrive later this year on September 6 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
NBA 2K20 will hit shelves Sept. 6, and it will feature Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis on the cover, while retired Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade will grace the cover of the legend edition.
