PoE Vaal Orbs is a currency item that could corrupt an Item, causing unpredictable and possibly highly effective rewards. When an Item is damaged, it could no longer be modified by any other Poe currency. This contains restoring imprints from an Eternal Orb. The principal use case for Vaal Orbs is obtaining very high-value corruptions on specific particular items. +1 Frenzy Charges on Blood Dance boots is a superior instance of this. NO.3 How to use Vaal Orb With Gems
Save to Vaal your level 20 gems. You can potentially get a level 21 gem or 23 quality gems which are excellent for a lot of builds. You might want to have an extra level 20, though, as you can delevel the treasure or worse turn it into a Vaal version of the skill if it has a Vaal version.
NO.4 How to use Vaal Orb With Maps
Vaal some of your mid-level maps, like 76-79, mainly if they have high pack size but relatively low quantity. You can potentially identify the Map, allowing you to run it as such for free Quantity. You can increment the level of the map which is as the value of the map then goes up by a fair amount. Also, you can make it into of those sweet eight mod maps. It's not worth it for lower level maps as they cost as much or less than the Vaal orb itself, and for higher level maps it is risky because you could randomize the properties into something terrible. Edit: also forgot the big reason not to Vaal high level, because you want to Zana mod those and Vaaling more than doubles the cost of Zana modding.

As you can see, the chance is almost the same, so would consider it worth the vaal. Corrupting +1 arrows on bows is much harder and you can ruin a good 5/6L though.
