ARC Raiders has introduced a new Raider Project called Ascending the Mountain, giving players another multi-stage objective to work through while exploring the maps. The project is closely tied to the mystery surrounding the Phantom ARC signal and the unexplored mountain region beyond the current Tube network.
Unlike a simple collection quest, Ascending the Mountain requires players to gather a wide range of materials, including crafting components, ARC parts and several harder-to-find ARC Raiders Items. Completing the project is well worth the effort, especially for players who want to stay on top of the latest progression content.
How Ascending the Mountain Works
Ascending the Mountain is a limited-time Raider Project divided into four stages. Each stage unlocks after completing the previous one and requires a specific collection of materials.
The project also fits naturally alongside other progression activities. Instead of dedicating every raid to a single objective, players can collect many of the required items while completing regular runs, contracts and other projects.
There are 15 rewards spread across the four stages, giving players plenty of reasons to complete the entire chain rather than stopping after the first few objectives.
Ascending the Mountain Material Requirements
Here is the full material breakdown for each stage:
| Stage | Required Materials |
| Stage 1 | 10 Mechanical Components, 6 Pop Triggers, 10 Explosive Compounds, 2 Headphones |
| Stage 2 | 20 Wires, 8 Voltage Converters, 2 Sentinel Firing Cores, 1 Rocket Thruster |
| Stage 3 | 2 Ruined Parachutes, 10 Crash Mats, 5 Shredder Gyros, 3 Breathtaking Snow Globes |
| Stage 4 | 30 Sensors, 3 Broken Guidance Systems, 15 Advanced Electrical Components, 3 Vaporizer Regulators |
The early stages are relatively straightforward, but the material requirements become noticeably more demanding toward the end.
If you are starting the project from scratch, it is a good idea to keep useful technical components instead of immediately recycling everything you find.
Stage 1: Research High-Altitude Mechanics
The first stage focuses on fairly common materials:
10 Mechanical Components
6 Pop Triggers
10 Explosive Compounds
2 Headphones
Mechanical Components are useful for more than just this project, so keeping a small reserve is recommended.
Pop Triggers can also be found across several different maps and loot areas. Because the required amount is relatively small, most players should be able to complete this stage naturally while running normal raids.
The main goal here is simply to avoid wasting inventory space on items that have no immediate value. Once you know you need them for the project, keep them until the stage is complete.
Stage 2: Begin Ignition Tests
The second stage introduces more specialized components:
20 Wires
8 Voltage Converters
2 Sentinel Firing Cores
1 Rocket Thruster
Wires and Voltage Converters are relatively manageable, but Sentinel Firing Cores and the Rocket Thruster are the items most likely to slow down your progress.
When you find one of these rarer components, extraction should become the priority. There is little reason to risk a valuable project item after already completing the difficult part of the run.
Solo players should be especially careful here, while squads can split up their searches and cover more loot locations.
Stage 3: Implement Landing Capabilities
Stage 3 requires:
2 Ruined Parachutes
10 Crash Mats
5 Shredder Gyros
3 Breathtaking Snow Globes
Breathtaking Snow Globes deserve special attention because they are Epic trinkets and can also be useful for other progression objectives.
This is one of the stages where efficient inventory management becomes important. If you are working on multiple projects at the same time, check your requirements before recycling or selling these items.
Stage 4: Final Tweaks
The final stage is the biggest material check in the project:
30 Sensors
3 Broken Guidance Systems
15 Advanced Electrical Components
3 Vaporizer Regulators
Sensors are required in large quantities, so start keeping them well before reaching the final stage.
The more difficult items are the Broken Guidance Systems and Vaporizer Regulators. If you already have them in your stash, resist the temptation to spend them elsewhere until you finish Ascending the Mountain.
Reaching the final stage only to discover that you used an important component for another project can turn a nearly finished objective into a frustrating grind.
Best Way to Farm the Required Materials
You do not need to create a completely separate farming routine for Ascending the Mountain.
A more efficient approach is to combine the project with your normal raids:
The most important rule is simple: do not take unnecessary risks with rare project materials.
A common component can usually be replaced quickly. A rare ARC component may require several additional raids to find again.
Rewards and Progression Value
Ascending the Mountain offers 15 rewards across its four stages, including useful progression rewards and items connected to the wider Raider experience.
The project is also important from a story perspective. Its objectives revolve around reaching the unexplored mountain region and investigating the strange ARC activity associated with it.
For players who regularly complete Raider Projects, this makes Ascending the Mountain an easy project to add to the normal gameplay loop. You can make progress simply by keeping the right materials and completing raids efficiently.
Tips for Finishing the Project Faster
If you want to complete the entire project without unnecessary grinding, focus on preparation rather than speed.
Keep a dedicated section of your stash for project materials and avoid recycling anything listed in a later stage. This becomes increasingly important once you reach Stage 3 and Stage 4.
It is also worth checking your other active projects before submitting materials. Some items overlap between progression objectives, and using a rare component too early can leave you searching for the same item again.
For solo players, safe extraction should take priority. Squads have more freedom to explore aggressively, but even a coordinated team should not underestimate the value of rare project items.
Ascending the Mountain is a straightforward project, but its later stages can become time-consuming if you do not prepare for the rarer materials.
The best strategy is to treat it as part of your normal ARC Raiders progression rather than a separate grind. Keep the required components, extract safely and work through the stages whenever your inventory allows it.
The early objectives should be easy to complete, while the final two stages are where most players will spend the majority of their farming time.
If you are already working through the project, pay particular attention to Sentinel Firing Cores, Rocket Thrusters, Broken Guidance Systems and Vaporizer Regulators. Getting those items safely back to Speranza will make the rest of the project much easier.
