Update 2.2 put ARC Turbines into the overwhelming majority of sessions on Buried City, Riven Tides, Blue Gate, and Spaceport, so the destroy loop is a planned raid face instead of a rare roll. The unit still drops late — about 16 minutes remaining is a normal descent cue — but the kill itself is shorter when the loadout matches the current tools: Deadlines under the power cells, a scoped Jupiter from the 150–170 m band, or both.
That speed matters for High-Voltage Exposure, the research task that asks you to Destroy 5 ARC Turbines before Charged Burst unlocks on the Aphelion amplification path. The same wrecks still yield Turbine Compressors, so the destroy count and the material pile move together when the fight stops eating half the raid clock.
High-Voltage Exposure is a Research Station task with a single destroy-count objective: destroy five ARC Turbines. Completing that count opens the Charged Burst research spend for Amplified Aphelion — Research Station level 4, 5,000 Research Points, and 5 Leaper Pulse Unit after the destroys are logged. Charged Burst changes the firing mode to charge and release; the longer the charge is held, the more projectiles fire on release. Each successful kill advances the counter whether the raid was built around Compressors or around the quest face.
| Face | Requirement | Payoff |
|---|---|---|
| High-Voltage Exposure destroy task | Destroy 5 ARC Turbines | Opens Charged Burst research on Amplified Aphelion |
| Charged Burst station research | Research Station 4; 5,000 Research Points; 5 Leaper Pulse Unit | Charge-and-release fire mode unlock spend after Destroy 5 |
| Turbine wreck loot | Scavenge after the kill | Turbine Compressor stacks on the wreck |
| Anvil Splitter research | Turbine Compressor x3 | Splitter Amplification install bill |
Five kills is five late-raid windows. Fast methods exist so the counter moves without turning every match into a full ammo dump on heavy armor.
Two changes stack. First, Store Update 2.2.0 raised Turbine presence to near-every-raid on Buried City, Riven Tides, Blue Gate, and Spaceport, so you can plan the kit before drop instead of hoping for a spawn. Second, the live kill routes short-circuit the old spray-the-shell pattern: a Barricade box plus opposite Deadline plants can finish from the first plant in about 17 seconds when the placements land, and a Jupiter held at 150–170 m deletes the need to stand inside lightning range at all.
Photoelectric Cloak is part of that speed. Live Update 1.42.0 made the Cloak work against Turbine lightning, so the close Deadline approach can close distance without eating the stun that used to punish every walk through the mine ring. Cloak, Barricade Kit, and Deadlines are the close kit; Jupiter is the range kit; a hybrid carries both.
Stash planning for those tools sits beside the broader catalog of ARC Raiders Items when Deadline, Cloak, and Barricade Kit crafts are the raid spend.
Three common pressure styles sit on the same machine. The contrast below is method shape only — no invented absolute HP or TTK values.
| Approach | Stand range | What it spends | Lightning exposure | Fail face |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hullcracker close | Inside the mine / armor ring | Hullcracker magazines + time on the shell | Full — mines and cluster lightning are live | Long close fight if the armor stays closed |
| Deadline nest (Dr. Nox) | Flat ground beside the unit, then plant on power-cell bottoms | 2–3 Deadlines (consumed); Cloak + Barricade return | Cloak covers approach; enclosed Barricade nest blocks lightning | Same-side plants leave it climbing alive |
| Jupiter range | 150–170 m sweet band | Jupiter / Amplified Jupiter ammo (approx. mid-30s rounds in one documented full clear) | None at ≥150 m | Falloff past ~170 m; empty bag if no Jupiter in stash |
| Snap Hook climb | On the machine itself | Snap Hook + close weapons | Extreme — climb risk includes catching fire and dying on the shell | High personal-risk face; not the Deadline or Jupiter plan |
Hullcracker remains the default close spray many Raiders still run. Snap Hook climbs onto the Turbine exist as a separate high-risk pressure style — the documented failure modes include catching fire and dying on the shell. The Deadline nest and the Jupiter band are the two routes that cut that exposure while still finishing the destroy count.
This is the close, low-damage route covered as the Dr. Nox Deadline method. Gear: Photoelectric Cloak, Barricade Kit, and at least two Deadlines (three is the Safe Pocket count).
| Step | Action | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Walk in with Photoelectric Cloak active | Lightning lock fails while Cloak covers the approach |
| 2 | Crouch once inside the minefield | Crouching prevents proximity mines from detonating |
| 3 | Build a four-wall Barricade box on flat ground next to the Turbine | Enclosed box breaks targeting and becomes the failsafe nest |
| 4 | Jump, roll, sprint, or strafe inside the closed box | Chain-detonates nearby mines without hurting you or aggroing the unit |
| 5 | Remove one wall that does not face the Turbine | Opens a plant lane while keeping a rebuildable shelter |
| 6 | Wait for glow-and-slow: intermittent bright blue center glow, fast spin, then slowdown, then ground hammer | Stationary plant window up to about 15 seconds after the hammer |
| 7 | Sprint, jump, plant two Deadlines on the bottom of a power cell on opposite sides of the rotation | Opposite plants delete; same-side / stacked plants often leave it alive |
| 8 | Let it take off — a clean plant pair detonates as it climbs | Practiced first-plant-to-kill timing around 17 seconds |
Glow-and-slow is intermittent, not a permanent open. The center glows bright blue and spins fast, then the power cells slow; a large hammer impact hits the ground and the unit holds stationary for up to about 15 seconds. That hammer cue is the plant lane. Miss the opposite placement and the next hammer after a re-land is the second window.
Barricade Kit and Cloak return with you after the fight. Deadlines are the consumed spend, which is why Safe Pocket stacks of two or three keep the method available every raid.
Deadline damage is 1,000 in a 10 m radius on a 6-second timer once planted. Two plants on opposite sides of the rotating power cells finish the unit on a clean run. Two plants stuck to the exact same spot on the same cell can leave it climbing still alive — that is the documented fail case, not an absolute HP chart. When the silhouette climbs without breaking:
Two Deadlines can finish a clean opposite plant; three is the safer bring count for the same-side fail and the mid-air cleanup face.
The range route never enters the mine ring. Stay at least 150 meters out so cluster lightning cannot reach, and keep inside about 170 meters so Jupiter damage stays at full before falloff on the current method band. Ping the unit to read distance to the nearest edge, wait for a grounded settle when you want a clear power-cell lane, then shoot the yellow cells with a scoped Jupiter or Amplified Jupiter.
| Range band | Effect |
|---|---|
| Under 150 m | Inside lightning reach — not the Jupiter plan |
| 150–170 m | Lightning-safe and full Jupiter damage on the current method band |
| Beyond ~170 m | Still outside lightning, but Jupiter damage starts falling off on the method band (some tracker notes list full damage out toward 180 m — treat 150–170 as the practiced kill lane) |
One documented full-health clear in this band used 36 Jupiter rounds — under four magazines — with no damage taken. Treat that 36-round figure as an approximate band for a scoped / Amplified Jupiter on open power cells, not a universal magazine law: Amplification path, scope, and how often the yellow cells stay open all change the round count. You do not have to wait for a landing, but grounded settle opens the critical cells. If it stays airborne, keep peppering the exposed structure until the shell breaks.
For the High-Voltage Exposure fifth kill and other contested late clocks, carry two to four Deadlines plus a Jupiter. Plant the Deadline pair first. If the unit climbs still standing, a few Jupiter shots from distance finish the remaining health because two Deadlines already put it near death. Closing kit language for every-raid spawns: three Deadlines minimum, a Barricade Kit for the nest, then Jupiter as the cleanup tool.
| Plan | Core tools | Finish condition |
|---|---|---|
| Close only | Cloak + Barricade box + opposite Deadlines | Clean opposite plants; ~17 s plant-to-kill when timed |
| Range only | Scoped / Amplified Jupiter at 150–170 m | Power-cell fire until destruction (~36 rounds approx. in one full clear) |
| Hybrid | 2–4 Deadlines + Jupiter backup | Deadlines break; Jupiter finishes leftover HP mid-air or after re-land |
Before drop, pack the consumeables that keep Method 1 and the hybrid alive when the first plant pair fails.
| Safe Pocket / loadout slot | Bring | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Safe Pocket Deadlines | 2 minimum; 3 safer | Opposite plant pair + one spare for same-side fail / third plant |
| Barricade Kit | Enough for a four-wall box (plus rebuild) | Nest, mine clear, lightning shelter; returns on extract |
| Photoelectric Cloak | 1 equipped for close approach | Lightning cover into the mine ring; returns on extract |
| Jupiter / Amplified Jupiter | Scoped pierce rifle + magazines | Range-only clear or hybrid mid-air finish |
| Extract plan | Nearest extract path marked before the plant | Wreck contest starts the second the silhouette drops |
Workbench and vendor notes used for these kills (craft bills cross-checked against current item sheets):
| Tool | Craft / access | Raid role |
|---|---|---|
| Deadline | Explosives Station 3 + Deadline Blueprint: 3 Explosive Compound + 2 ARC Circuitry + 1 Comet Igniter; Apollo also stocks 1/day | Opposite power-cell plants; consumed on use; 1,000 damage / 10 m / 6 s timer |
| Photoelectric Cloak | Utility Station 3: 2 Advanced Electrical Components + 4 Speaker Components (no blueprint) | Approach through lightning; returns with extract |
| Barricade Kit | Blueprint research (Research Station 1: 1,000 Research Points + 3 Rusty ARC Steel) then Utility Station 1 craft (1 Mechanical Components); or buy 6/day from Apollo | Four-wall nest + mine clear + lightning shelter |
| Jupiter / Amplified Jupiter | Stash pierce rifle; scope helps the 150–170 m band | Full clear or hybrid finish outside lightning |
Explosive Compound, Circuitry, Speaker Components, and related craft inputs are the same family of ARC Raiders Materials the Deadline and Cloak bills burn before the raid starts.
Plan the five High-Voltage Exposure kills on maps where Update 2.2 keeps Turbines common: Buried City, Riven Tides, Blue Gate, and Spaceport. Day raids on those maps are the documented every-raid pool. Standard Dam Battlegrounds sessions had Turbine spawns removed; the unit can still appear under remaining conditions such as Electromagnetic Storm, so Dam is a poor dedicated destroy-count map.
Named landmarks below are candidate approach cues for the airborne silhouette — not a promise that every marker holds a unit every raid. Scan open sky from the nearest two or three of these after the late-raid descent cue, then move on the machine rather than clearing every empty pin.
| Map | Candidate approach landmarks | Read cue |
|---|---|---|
| Buried City | Marano Park, Space Travel, Library, Abandoned Highway Camp, Church Ruins | Park / highway clearings for silhouette; ruins for cover on approach |
| Riven Tides | Dried Riverbed, Azzurro Beach, Wreckage, Mulatierra Hill, Weighing Checkpoint | Coast and riverbed sightlines; hill for range Jupiter band |
| Blue Gate | Broken Earth, Ridgeline, Maintenance Wing, Pilgrim's Peak, Security Wing | Ridgeline / Peak for 150–170 m lanes; wings for nest flat ground |
| Spaceport | Fuel Lines, Launch Towers, Control Tower A6, Container Storage, Departure Building | Industrial yards for long sightlines; towers for ping distance |
| Clock band | Action for Destroy 5 progress |
|---|---|
| Match start | Load Cloak / Barricade / Deadlines or Jupiter; fill Safe Pocket Deadline stacks; mark nearest extract |
| ~16:00 remaining | Expect the descent; move toward the airborne silhouette from the nearest landmark cue |
| Landing / first hammer window | Run opposite Deadline plants, Jupiter range fire, or hybrid |
| Fail / second window | Rebuild iron nest; wait for re-land hammer; third Deadline or Jupiter mid-air finish |
| Wreck open | Destroy count ticks; scavenge Turbine Compressor if the Epic appears; leave before the extract contest collapses |
A second hammer window after a failed first plant is the documented recovery lane. Dual-Turbine sessions are not treated as a guaranteed every-raid face here — Update 2.2 raised presence consistency on the four maps above; plan for one late machine and the re-land window if the first plant pair fails.
The destroy count ticks when the Turbine breaks. The wreck then becomes a contested loot pile: Turbine Compressors sit on the debris, other Raiders can hear or see the fall, and the late-raid timer is already short. Order that works with the methods above:
Compressors and the Barricade / Cloak kit return with a clean extract. Deadlines do not. That split is why Safe Pocket Deadline stacks matter more than packing extra Barricade walls for the same raid.
Destroyed Turbines drop Turbine Compressors on the wreck. Current kill coverage calls out Compressor x3 as the Anvil Splitter research bill, so the Destroy 5 loop and the Splitter material loop share the same late-raid machine. Splitter node behavior and branch lockouts sit with the wider Amplified Anvil path when that install is the stash goal after the five Turbines are already logged.
Charged Burst research after High-Voltage Exposure is the Aphelion-side payoff; Amplification quality gates for other frames remain a separate Research Station track covered in the Quality V unlock route when those benches are the bottleneck instead of Turbine destroys.
