NBA 2K23 is just a few weeks away, and a plethora of information about the game itself has been released. Especially, NBA 2K23 will include new twists for MyTeam by adding co-op gameplay, Prestige Tiers, single-player Clutch Time, and more. Here is a look at the 11 big changes you should know about NBA 2K23's MyTeam mode.
1. No Contracts
MyTeam will not utilize contracts in the mode this season, meaning players can now freely restart single-player matches without worrying about using games from a player's contract.
2. Triple Threat Online Co-Op
NBA 2K23 will introduce online co-op to MyTEAM's Triple Threat game mode, allowing players to team up with other players online in lobbies of up to six.
3. New Prestige Tiers in Unlimited
New MyTEAM Prestige Tiers will also be introduced in NBA 2K23, letting players reset their team's progression to earn even more exciting rewards.
4. Leaderboards back in Unlimited
Leaderboards have returned and will show statistics from friends and the player base at large. Players that reach the top 10 or complete all tiers for the season will earn a special icon next to their name.
5. Clutch Time Single Player
MyTEAM in NBA 2K23 will also debut a single-player variant to the popular fast-paced Clutch Time game mode, allowing players to play Clutch Time offline for the first time.
6. Starter Cards Trial Games
You'll still get Starter Cards in this year's game to kick off your collection. Ja Morant, Jimmy Butler, and Joel Embiid will be the players you have to choose from, and you'll get to play in a Triple Threat game to serve as your trial for the Starter cards.
Players can now send player cards outside their 13-player lineup on vacation around the globe and will return with a special reward from their mission.
8. Trophy Case Awards
Another path to more rewards comes from the new Trophy Case awards. With 15 Event Cards for each NBA franchise showcasing key moments of their history, players can earn a Pink Diamond player for each team.
9. MyTeam Unlimited Tournament Returns
The return of the $250,000 MyTEAM Unlimited Tournaments. Reach the Emerald Tier in the new Unlimited before the first GameDay on October 15 to participate. The finalists will be brought to an in-person setting to crown the $50,000 Console Champions and the $200,000 Grand Champions.
10. Player-Lock in Any MyTeam Mode
NBA 2K23 will also introduce a "locked position" control scheme, allowing players to control one specific player or position throughout a full MyTEAM match.
11. Eras in MyTEAM
MyTEAM will also introduce weekly limited challenges called "Eras" with team-building restrictions.
