As the NBA season progresses, the NBA 2K22 ratings are sure to be updated. But which players' ratings will change? Five players we think will go up in ratings and five players who will go down. Here are our predictions:
Five Players Going Up in NBA 2K22 (Prediction)
Here are the players we believe will receive a boost to their NBA 2K22 ratings:
1). Chris Paul - Phoenix Suns - 89 OVR - 90 OVR (+1)
Chris Paul is lighting up the stat sheet and is leading the best team in the Western Conference right now. Averaging 14.4 points per game might not seem like a lot, but he pairs it with 10.2 assists and 2.0 steals per game. It's time Chris Paul makes it into the NBA 2K22 90 OVR club.
2). Donovan Mitchell - Utah Jazz - 88 OVR - 89 OVR (+1)
Donovan Mitchell is another player often overlooked in the NBA. However, you can't deny is that he ranks at No.11 in the NBA in points per game (24.8). He averages five assists per game and shoots nearly 90% from the free-throw line.
3). DeMar DeRozan - Chicago Bulls - 88 OVR - 89 OVR (+1)
You could argue that most of the Bull's success is because of DeMar DeRozan, the leading scorer (26.4 ppg). He was knocked down to 88 OVR in the last NBA 2K22 update, but that will change during the next one.
4). Khris Middleton - Milwaukee Bucks - 85 OVR - 87 OVR (+2)
Khris Middleton is a player that completes the Milwaukee Bucks. Without him, they would've never been NBA Champions. This year, he's proving his worth yet again, shooting over 40% from the field and distributing the ball well with five assists per game.
5). Brandon Ingram - New Orleans Pelicans - 83 OVR - 85 OVR (+2)
Lastly, but most importantly, Brandon Ingram of the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans looked for leadership from Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram instead. Ingram leads the team in points per game (22.9) and ranks No.16 in the NBA. Ingram will get some recognition during the next NBA 2K22 update.
Five Players Going Down in NBA 2K22 (Prediction)
The players in this group, we believe, haven't performed up to par this entire season or have made critical mistakes to lose games for their teams.
1). Giannis Antetokounmpo - Milwaukee Bucks - 96 OVR - 95 OVR (-1)
Two things will result in Giannis Antetokounmpo's rating decrease. His 3PT shooting is at 28.9%, and he averages 3 turnovers a game.
2). Luka Doncic - Dallas Mavericks - 93 OVR - 92 OVR (-1)
Luka Doncic is another player that we believe will have a tough adjustment to his NBA 2K22 rating. He's shooting 69.8% from the free-throw line and turns the ball over nearly five times a game. That kind of play doesn't warrant a 93 OVR rating.
3). James Harden - Brooklyn Nets - 91 OVR - 90 OVR (-1)
James Harden leads the league in one category, turnovers. Averaging five turnovers a game while only scoring 20.8 is a great way to see your NBA 2K22 rating fall. Eventually, we could see Harden work his way out of the 90 OVR club.
4). Damian Lillard - Portland Trail Blazers - 90 OVR - 89 OVR (-1)
We expect Damian Lillard to exit the 90 OVR club in the next NBA 2K22 rating update. He's seriously underperformed this season. He averages 21.6 points per game (18th in the NBA) and shoots 29.6% from the 3PT line (143rd in the NBA).
5). Kyle Lowry - Miami Heat - 81 OVR - 80 OVR (-1)
Lastly, we've got Kyle Lowry, the point guard for the Miami Heat. Lowry doesn't flourish in the Heat's offense, and that's apparent by his 13.4 points per game. Pair that with his 3.1 turnovers per game, and you've got a recipe for a drop in your NBA 2K22 rating.
